"Luigi's Mansion": New Music Arrangement File Posting - "Meeting Toad"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 - 10:53 AM

Keeping this "new music arrangement file posting" backlog clearing streak going this morning, everyone! This time around, after starting this specific page since a little over two years ago (specifically on 10/31/2018), the latest Super Nintendo music style arrangement cover targets the song heard in Luigi's Mansion (both the Nintendo Gamecube version and the Nintendo 3DS port of the very first "Luigi's Mansion" installment, of course) when we run into Toad and have a dialogue with him. And like the majority of covers that I've done so far targeting this game's score, this arrangement also uses the SNES music instrument set that was originally done for Capcom's Super Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, which is also one of those "scary games"; the only difference is that it's very rare that I'd use this kind of set for "positive tunes", and this is one of those cases, as the song title suggests.

You're able to check out this new file by going here. I'll be updating the respective "Music Arrangement File Statistics" document later today to reflect this addition because I have to see about heading out at this time. After that, watch out - there might be some major shakeups coming in the next music arrangement file posting, and you won't want to miss it! See you all then.

"Super Mario 3D Land": New Music Arrangement File Posting - "Clock Tower Course (World 7-4)"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, December 21, 2020 - 07:19 PM

Deja vu all over again, everyone. But this is an entirely new case altogether.

If you can recall from the new music arrangement file postings that I've deal with during the course of last week, the respective "Mario Tennis Open" game page for our operations had to wait a course of seven to eight years before new SNES music style arrangement covers were done targeting the related score there.

Now it's "Super Mario 3D Land"'s turn. After a seven year wait for the respective game page there as well (the last music arrangement file posting for it was done way back in 7/20/2013), I've finally snagged the chance to see about posting this newest Super Nintendo music style arrangement cover focused on the simple, yet addictive tune that's heard as we're navigating the "Clock Tower Course" (World 7-4). And the thing is, I've had this file on standby to be finalized since very early in the year, but then COVID-19 started to wreak havoc everywhere.

This arrangement itself in question also uses the SNES instrument set that's heard from Accolade/Solid Software's "Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind" (as created/composed by Matt Berardo for the related music score for that SNES game); it's been a long while since I've called on this set as well. We shall see if any new candidates will have me use it again in the months to come. As for the file itself to check out, you're able to do so here.

Could there be more music arrangements on the horizon targeting the Super Mario 3D Land score itself after this one? We'll have to wait and see what next year brings, so as always, be on the lookout for any new developments on this angle! Until then, don't forget to send me an email if you encounter any issues with accessing this new file itself in question, and I'll see you folks again on the next music arrangement file posting. Later, all!

New Music Arrangement Postings Incoming This Week Before the Christmas Holidays

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, December 21, 2020 - 08:51 AM

Just a heads-up to all of you faithful friends/visitors/Mario enthusiasts/Super Nintendo music style arrangement enthusiasts that I've still been hard at work in trying to clear the majority of this backlog before 2020 is in the history books for many, many reasons. This new week is no different because as I'm writing this blog entry, preparations are being made to get certain upcoming Super Nintendo music style arrangements done by yours truly out of the queue before Christmas arrive. I won't disclose which ones I am targeting in my planbook at this time, but here's a hint: some of them have literally been on standby since months ago (which of course was held back even further due to COVID-19 having an iron grip over our daily routines ever since late March/early April).

Until then, make sure that you keep your eyes open on all existing "interactive community portals" (including Twitter and Discord (if you've been granted access to those areas), as well as our IRC channel on EsperNet) as well as this front page for when said music arrangement postings go live during the course of this week. And here's another hint before I go: there might be one or two new featured Super Nintendo music instrument sets that'll featured as well. You all don't want to miss this. See you awesome people later.

New Music Arrangements Posted Targeting "Mario Tennis Open" (And A Newly Featured SNES Instrument Set!)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, December 14, 2020 - 03:12 PM

It's been a very long while since I began Super Nintendo music style arrangements covering this aformentioned game's score for the Nintendo 3DS console (as composed by well known development member Motoi Sakuraba of Camelot Software Planning). Think back many years ago (specificially during the course of 2012, to be exact) when I began the "process" (and at that same time, the Super Nintendo music instrument set for Capcom's Mega Man Soccer was involved in the very first two arrangements that I've done... specifically this one and this one).

Fast forward many years after that to the date and time of this posting, and I'm happy to announce that two new Super Nintendo music style arrangements have been done which once again targets songs from this Nintendo 3DS game. Additionally, these new covers now involve the newest SNES music instrument set to be featured for these operations as a whole: David Crane's Amazing Tennis (developed and published by Absolute Entertainment/Imagineering, with Mark Van Hecke being the composer of said musical score for it). And rumor has it that more songs might be targeted from the Mario Tennis Open game for the music arrangement/cover process that may involve the newest featured SNES instrument set as well. But you'll have to wait and see what songs in question might be covered next... possibly during the course of next year (and after I have made more progress in clearing the majority of my upcoming music file backlog).

And before I forget, special thanks to fellow Super Nintendo music enthusiast KungFuFurby for helping me out with leads in getting the David Crane's Amazing Tennis instrument set together so I can do the arrangement procedures with it including the covering of the two featured Mario Tennis Open songs, as listed below (with the respective file links):

Tournament - Star Cup (Theme 1)
Mario Stadium

As always, if you have any problems with accessing the music files themselves that I've just linked to above, please don't hesitate to let me know via email as soon as possible so I can look into the matter. Take care until next time, all! I'm out.
