Goodbye to 2020, Hello 2021!

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, January 1, 2021 - 08:17 AM

The Mario gang (pictured above) is ready for the challenges of this new 2021 year, and so are these beloved music operations! The question is: are YOU ready for us as well? Read further for more details.
(Image courtesy: Nintendo Japan/Universal Studios Japan for their upcoming Super Nintendo World attraction, scheduled to open in February 2021.)

It's officially here, friends... the 2021 year itself has now arrived at our doorsteps. I'm just snagging the chance to make this very first post of these beloved music operations (and this "home base website") to wish all of you faithful followers/Super Nintendo music style arrangement listeners/supporters/Mario enthusiasts a very happy New Year and let's all hope that the "journey" itself this time around will be way better as compared to the 2020 year which I'm sure that we were more than happy to put in the history books.

Granted, the horrible COVID-19 pandemic is still hovering over our heads messing up our daily routines; however, from the recent news that we've heard regarding critical vaccine rollouts in hopes to slowly quash that mess over time, there's hope that one of these days, we can start to eliminate this "coronavirus" roadblock at last and get back to full action on all fronts. Until then, let's all continue to stay safe and adhere to health guidelines from the medical experts.

Back to the "music operations" angle; here's what's up: just like last week during the "Christmas holidays period", the same applies here regarding any new correspondence that I may receive during this time (which include general inquiries regaridng the site/existing music filesnew Twitter follower requests, and new Discord server temporary invite link requests). All new inquries that I get will be reviewed during the course of this coming Monday (January 4th).

Finally, the formal "monthly greetings entry" for January is still being planned which will look back at how yours truly has managed to pull through for these beloved music operations last year. There might be two articles regarding this, so you don't want to miss it. Additionally, I'm still working on doing necessary backups on all site/music file materials before proceeding further as we get ready to meet 2021's challenges head on.

Until then, once again, all of you have a fantastic New Year's "weekend period", and I'll see you all as we get back into the groove for these operations come the first full week of this month. Later, awesome people!

Christmas 2020 Greetings (A Few Hours In Advance) / Correspondence Response and Other Remaining Plans for 2020

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, December 24, 2020 - 08:24 PM

Our lead Mario female, Princess Peach, enjoying the special Christmas festivities along with her friend Toad; here's hoping that we'll all do the same tomorrow!
(Image courtesy: Nintendo of Japan's Winter 2020 Magazine Issue)

After all the music arrangement file postings that we have done in the past few days this week (along with the ones that were made during late last month), you can bet that yours truly is more than ready to take a breather for the next few days as we approach not just the Christmas holiday itself tomorrow, but the Christmas weekend as a whole as well. Although the horrible COVID-19 pandemic has put a major wrench on traditional happenings for all of us, I still hope that all of us will find ways to make the most of this most blessed and special time on the calendar like in past years. I'm making sure on my end to do the same.

With that said, just a heads-up in regards to music operations related business as a whole for the next few days. First, in regards to correspondence in general: any new inquiries that I receive between now (December 24th) and the end of Sunday (December 27th) will be reviewed and answered on Monday (December 28th). The only exception would be if there are any "emergency circumstances" regarding this site and/or related files that would need my prompt attention if any cases arise. You're still able to use these available site forms to get in contact with me from that angle; however, once again, keep in mind that for some which would involve me to respond, I'll review those when Monday arrives. Note that this also goes for any new Twitter follower requests and/or Discord server invite requests that I receive in the correspondence as well.

Also, next week after the Christmas holiday break, the planbook is to focus on working on possible new articles for this site (if any). Additionally, I'm hoping that during one of the days next week itself, I can see about dealing with a backup of this entire site and existing music files for these operations as well so we can be up to date and ready on all angles for when this year will officially be in the history books and start again on a fresh course for 2021.

Before I go, let me once again thank all of you for being so very patient with me as we've been fighting to try and get back up to speed ever since this COVID-19 pandemic hit earlier this year. I'm sure we're all in agreement that it has been a very challenging and chaotic year thanks to this horrible coronavirus mess still wreaking havoc everywhere; here's hoping that during the course of the coming 2021 year, we'll definitely see the odds in our favor, especially for these beloved music operations itself as a whole. I'll elaborate on this more in another article in the future when the new year arrives; until then, all of you please continue to stay safe and once again, have a fantastic Christmas holiday weekend, everyone. I'm out.

New Game Page Added: "Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit" (With 1 New Music Arrangement File)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, December 24, 2020 - 11:58 AM

And here we are at the "finish line" before the upcoming "Christmas holidays" period (for now). From this page, what started as a file backlog count of 50 in the queue (from way back in late November prior to doing my music arrangement file clearing efforts for this year) has now drastically dropped down to 14. And it comes as we are now posting our final music arrangement file addition of the 2020 year, which also adds a new featured game page for these operations as a whole... under the name of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.

This game installment itself in general is a very unique one for the Nintendo Switch console in many ways that I won't explain here, but as expected from any Mario Kart game installment as of late, yours truly has run into some "song candidates" from this Nintendo Switch game to attempt doing Super Nintendo music style arrangement covers of.

But for today, and just in time before I prepare to switch gears for the upcoming "Christmas holidays period" coming at us in just a few hours from now, the latest SNES music style cover that I've posted targets the song heard when we're viewing the "winning results" after we've finished a course in a satisfactory position (of course, we're always hoping that we end up being in 1st place when crossing the finish line). The song itself caught my atention like that; and you know what that meant... my getting to work on the backend using the Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge SNES music instrument set (as done by Geoff Follin/Tim Follin for the respective musical score there) and get this beloved arrangement done for sharing with you all.

You're able to hear the new SNES music style cover of this song in question by going to this link. With that said, there's also rumor that I might be working on another song from the Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit game as well, but I'll be holding off on making more progress involving that until after we officially start the 2021 year in a little over two weeks from now. I'll obviously keep you posted as we forge onward.

Until then, enjoy the song; and as always, if you have any difficulites accessing the file itself, send an email inquiry my way letting me know of your issue. Later, all!

New Game Page Added: "Mario Sports Superstars" (With 13 New Arrangement Postings and 4 Featured SNES Music Instrument Sets!)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 - 08:49 AM

The day has finally come to get this off my planbook's backlog before the end of the year, everyone (and just in time for the upcoming Christmas holidays too)! One month after posting our newest featured game installment page housing Super Nintendo music style arrangements that I've done focused on the songs from Paper Mario: Color Splash, it's time for a new "starter batch" of arrangements to join in targeting the score of this very interesting Mario sports game installment that was done for the Nintendo 3DS system: Mario Sports Superstars!

Here's what's up: this "starter batch" of 13 new arrangement covers for the page also bring in tow for the majority them 5 newly featured Super Nintendo instrument sets as well! They include Biker Mice From Mars (Konami), Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition (Bandai), Captain America and the Avengers (Data East/Mindscape/Realtime Associates), Super Soccer Champ (Taito) and Goal! (Jaleco). Some others involve instrument sets that I've used before including the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers game (also from Bandai) as well as Plok (Tradewest/Software Creations). I know this is a lot to digest, but I'm super excited about this and really enjoyed doing this first batch of stuff ever since earlier this year on the backend process of things. And I'm seriously hoping that you all enjoy listening to this all stuff too. With that said, let's not waste any more time; here are the song titles/file links in question sorted out by what Super Nintendo music instrument set was involved in the arrangement cover process itself for them:

Arrangements that used Konami's Biker Mice from Mars:
Opening Theme
Baseball - Final Inning (Away Team)

Arrangements that used Bandai's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition:
Golf - Dormie Hole

Arrangements that used Data East/Mindscape/Realtime Associates' Captain America and the Avengers:
Baseball - Town Park (Home Team)
Baseball - Town Park (Away Team)
Baseball - Final Inning (Home Team)

Arrangements that used Taito's Super Soccer Champ:
Soccer - Kingdom Stadium (Night)
Soccer - City Stadium (Night)

Arrangements that used Jaleco's Goal!:
Baseball - Country Field (Away Team)

Arrangements that used Bandai's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers:
Tennis - Mushroom Cup
Tennis - Flower Cup

Arrangements that used Tradewest/Software Creations' Plok:
Golf - Crystal Beach
Golf - Wild Valley

Once again, thanks to those of you who assisted me in terms of finding composer leads in the Mario Sports Superstars game itself (as we suspected, the very talented Motoi Sakuraba of Camelot Software Planning was the one responsible for doing this game's score itself as a whole for the Nintendo 3DS game). Also, another shoutout to KungFuFurby for giving me leads to certain composer information related for specified Super Nintendo music instrument sets, especially in the case of Jaleco's Goal! and Taito's Super Soccer Champ.

Once again, this definitely was a lot to write and digest very early in the morning and I hope to see about updating the "Music Arrangement File Ranking Statistics" document later today to reflect this new posting (which I know is going to be literally rocked as a result of this). Until then, as always, if you run into any problems with checking out the new file postings themselves, please don't hesitate to let me know as soon as possible so I can get the situation rectified in a timely manner. See you all later.
