ATTENTION: "DISCORD PORTAL" SERVER INVITE LINK REQUEST FORM TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Although I have managed to reclaim my respective Discord account itself as of 4/9/2024, we're still doing some backend "recovery efforts" before we start accepting Discord server invite link requests again. More details here; your patience and understanding in advance is greatly appreciated.

Quick Follow-Up On Our Hosting Account Sitatuion / "Forum Poral" Setup Continues

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 - 10:27 AM

Many apologies for the "dormancy" on the frontend; I am just snagging the chance this morning to get you faithful followers/listeners up to speed on what has been going on regarding our site hosting account and resolving the "forum database access" situation that I've run into as I've been trying to get the new forum software in place that'll eventually be seen in the "Forum Portal" section of our site in due time.

First, as stated in previous entries - the hosting administration had to do a "reset" on my account in hopes to get the issue resolved on their end. They did do that and I managed to get the files for this site back in action a few days ago. But unfortunately, the problem itself is still there regarding my getting access to the forum database itself to do some slight modifications on that. Still hoping to get to the bottom of this eventually.

That said, I was able to find a workaround in terms of installing the forum software itself; however, I had to check through the forum software code in order to do it on the backend (mainly in regards to the "installation process" itself). That has now been done and I'm now still in the "setup phase" of the forum itself; my hope is that we can get this part of the site back in action at last in time for this music operation's 10th anniversary next month.

Once again, I'm still here; it's just that so much "backend stuff" has been taking up much of my time. Not to mention that I'm still hard at work on new "music arrangement" stuff to start off the 2020 year strong, but that's another post for another time. But still keep it locked on the front page for any new happenings; in the meantime, please don't hesitate to follow us on Twitter, apply for access to our server here on the Discord, or check out our IRC channel on EsperNet. Take care for now, all; I'm out.

HEADS-UP: Site Hosting Account Being Reset Soon (Addressing Backend Issues)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, January 20, 2020 - 08:09 PM

Been busy trying to get some site account stuff sorted out on the backend of this place; a few days ago, I've gotten word from the folks at Vimly Digital via support ticket that despite all options they've tried on their end to address the current situations with my related account for this site (mostly in regards to my "database access" login issues related to the replacement forum software that I've been atempting to set up), they'd have to see about doing an "account reset" because there were certain aspects that still require another part of my account backend in order for me to log on to the database area of it successfully.

This is a heads-up that I'm currently taking care of doing yet another site/materials backup in relation to this account starting tomorrow so that the hosting administration can proceed with doing the account reset itself (which includes the filesystem for this site itself and the database that we implement for the replacement forum system). So if you attempt to check this site's front page and are experiencing issues, this is most likely the case.

Many apologies in advance for any inconveniences this may bring up during the next few days; rest assured, I'll keep you all posted via other available matters including our other "interactivity portals" once the site itself is back online again and hopefully, my "database access" issue has been completely resolved. We appreciate your understanding of this matter.

What's Been Happening on the Backend as of 1/12/2020

Posted by Merit Celaire on Sunday, January 12, 2020 - 05:56 PM

Okay, all; apologies for being very "dormant" on the frontend of these operations, but I can assure you that I am absolutely not "dormant" on the backend. On the contrary: I am currently dealing with two "backend situations" which I'll let you all know where things stand at this time.

First, ever since we officially began the 2020 year itself a few weeks back (and after resting up from that), yours truly has gotten back into the Super Nintendo music style arrangement groove again. Details are still under lock and key, but so far, I currently have laid out "tracker process end" wise the foundation of five upcoming covers targeting a certain Nintendo 3DS game that doesn't have a game page for these operations yet. I am hoping, however, that we can make more progress on this angle and get it up for our 10th anniversary next month. Additionally, I am aware that this page has yet to be updated on what I'm currently working on at this time; hopefully, I can deal with this later before the weekend itself is out.

Second, I've been hard at work on the "setup phases" of getting the "Forum Portal" section of our site back in action for our 10th anniversary itself next month as well. The situation is this: we've decided on the forum software to use, and the database for it has been set up as well. The only roadblock that I'm currently sorting out at this time: attempting to log into the database itself on the backend to make some adjustments to it. I have been experiencing some "access difficulty" situations that won't allow me to get at the forum database itself; I currently have an active support ticket with the folks at Vimly Digital to help me get to the bottom of this matter. But rest assured that I am determined to get this angle itself done for the course of next month; will keep you all posted on any new developments on this as they happen.

Finally on a side note: I've been playing catch up on letting you all know about other matters as well. Although we haven't gotten reports of this kind of case, I'm still making plans on getting a form up on our site to all you folks to report on any "plagiarism attempts" involving any of our operation's music files. As you know, the only places authorized so far for sharing my music arrangement works are this site and our SoundCloud account (where I post my "personal favorites" from time to time over there). I'll get more into this another time, but I've been encountering news as of late outside of here regarding people blatantly stealing other people's fan works and posting it as their own. That is without a doubt a red flag there and unacceptable; while I do hope it doesn't happen for these operations, the reality that is that it still could happen, and we need to take the necessary steps to make sure we can take action on those kind of "plagiarism cases" when the need arises. One "plagiarism case" for us is obviously one too many, and we have to be on guard for anything regarding this kind of matter. But once again, I'll elaborate on that more in another post (and when the form itself goes live). Stay tuned.

Until then, you all have a great rest of your weekend; as always, if you have any further questions for me regarding this post, please don't hesitate to send me a email, contact me on Discord (if you have been approved for accessing the server after filling out this form), or via our IRC channel on EsperNet (when I'm online there, of course). See you all later.

January 2020 Greetings: Looking Back At 2019 While Preparing To Go Forward

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, January 4, 2020 - 12:15 PM

Okay, friends; happy Saturday to all of you faithful friends/visitors/listeners of these music operations. Now that things have somewhat returned to normal routine after the Christmas holiday stuff from last week and the New Year's happenings from a few days ago, I can now snag the time to do our formal "monthly greetings entry" for the first month of this year. And of course, we've got to look back at the statistics made during the course of 2019 which is now in the history books. And they are as follows regarding music arrangements that were involved and other related factors:

* 36 new Super Nintendo music style arrangements added for these operations, involving...
* 8 featured Super Mario (and branched) video game installments (covering Wii, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices)
* 12 involved Super Nintendo music instrument sets/arrangement stylings

As for which featured installments/arrangements for those statistics above dominated in 2019: on the Super Mario (and branched) videogame installment end, the winner is Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (having 14 covers from yours truly added). On the featured Super Nintendo music instrument set/arrangement styling end, that honor goes to Inspector Gadget (because of my using this set to do the majority of SNES music style arrangement covers targeting the score of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker). Once again, please note that this targeted activity during the course of last year; according to our "Music File Statistics" document at this time, all time statistics still have Super Paper Mario having the highest amount of music arrangements done under that title and Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge still dominating instrument set/arrangement styling usage (with The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse and Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose! instrument sets following closely behind).

In short, it has definitely been a very exciting year with my picking up the pace during the course of the latter part doing covers targeting the musical scores of Mario Golf: World Tour and Mario Kart Tour. The only question to ask now is what will be in store for us planbook wise as we officially begin the 2020 year. God only knows in regards to that. But one thing is for certain: we've still got to address some music operations related matters as we close in on the 10th anniversary for it; that's another story altogether.

Meanwhile, yours truly is currently getting ready to get back in the music arrangement groove itself during the course of this weekend. I already am starting to target new songs that have been in my planbook's backlog for months; you faithful friends/followers/listeners will definitely not want to miss out on what I've got planned to share as the months forge ahead. Until then, I have to head out for now; you all have a great rest of your weekend, and let's hope and pray for the best during this 2020 year itself. See you all later.
