And We're FINALLY Back Online; Got A Lot Of Catching Up To Do

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, January 29, 2024 - 01:16 PM

Nope, faithful friends/followers of these music operations as a whole, you are not reading that title wrong. Yours truly has been dealing with one of the biggest hurdles in the history of these endeavors to date; as you all are much well aware, this entire home base website's respective hosting account was temporarily suspended due to the monthly traffic allotment under it having already exceeded the 5 GB threshold under AwardSpace's "free hosting client" status (resulting in your not able to see this website itself for the majority of this month's second half). I knew that on the backend, I had to take action to see about getting the respective account upgraded before the month is out because I have a very strong feeling that if this wasn't done before next month arrives, we'd all run into this same kind of crisis again and that's something that I don't want to see happen for a third time.

I've yet to recheck on any differences that have been implemented in regards to our hosting account now with AwardSpace, but this much is certain: as of the date and time of this posting, the respective hosting account in question has now been updated to the "paid client status" (and my conscience is telling me that if I'm not wrong, this was the kind of case and route that the AwardSpace folks were hoping that I would take). So now, this "paid hosting client" status is in effect for our home base website for up to one year in which I'll make sure to renew in due time.

Once again, I'll see about making a seperate post in regards to any changes in restrictions from the website side after I've done more investigation on the backend. But my first assumption would have to be in regards to communication abilities related to it for the most part.

I'll keep you all posted; until then and on a side note, this is one of the "major hurdles" that I've had to deal with during the course of this latter part of the month, as mentioned earlier. But there's another major hurdle that apparently some super evil adversarial forces just had to throw at yours truly, and here's a hint: it's resulted in one of our online forms for this site having to be taken offline for a temporary period. More on that in another posting later on either tonight or tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Keeping Close Tabs On Our Hosting Account's "Bandwitdh Allotment"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 - 07:03 PM

Good evening again, friends; just to give you all a heads-up on what's been going on from the backend site traffic activity wise - recently, I've been checking our respective hosting account from the folks at AwardSpace and noticed that we're slowly getting to the point where our monthly bandwidth allotment for January is about to run out before we reach the middle of this month already (since our respective AwardSpace hosting account is in the "free status", we're only given a 5 GB monthly bandwidth allotment).

This already has me concerned since we ran into this same case when our hosting account ran out of its bandwidth allotment approximately one to two weeks before November of last year came to a close (as was elaborated on further on this post).

At this time, I'm currently weighing my options on the backend because we're trying our best to avoid history repeating itself this month (and especially since we're just starting a brand new year) - apparently, I need to see about resolving this site hosting matter first before I get back to music operations content update related matters in general; the choices are either do nothing and let the bandwith run out causing this site to be inaccessible (again), or initiate a "paid upgrade status" attempt to remove the majority of "restrictions" (which also includes the lifting of the "monthly bandwidth allotment" restriction in question). And it looks like the AwardSpace hosting staff is hoping that I'll choose the latter in due time.

Note this does not mean that I'm giving up this site and/or these operations in a long shot. But I'm just waiting for my next funding to come in shortly so I can review my options again in the next few days with hopes this first "site hosting challenge" will get resolved shortly. Will keep you all posted; stay tuned.

New "Twitter (X) Portal" Poll Focused on Available "Super Mario Bros. Wonder" Music Covers

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 - 05:17 PM

Good afternoon, friends; at this time, I'm still trying to find the opportunity to get the "Year in Review" written up looking back on all the Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers that were posted during the previous 2023 year. And there was definitely a bunch of stuff, but I'm very sure that generally speaking, one of the very big standouts was our targeting the highly noticeable songs heard from the recent and highly acclaimed Super Mario Bros. Wonder installment for the Nintendo Switch console.

To the chase: for those of you out there who are confirmed followers at our Twitter (X) Portal profile page, an all new poll has been posted that's mainly to tell me how many of you have snagged the chance to check out the currently available Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers that feature stuff from this said game (which can be viewed and voted on here). I might do another Super Mario Bros. Wonder related poll down the road, but there's nothing final on that angle yet. But as always, regarding this poll, keep in mind that it closes next week at the time of said posting, so make sure to place in your votes before the expiration date/time arrives.

Another quick reminder that if you are not a confirmed follower of our profile page on Twitter (X), you need to submit a follower request at our profile page for me to review accordingly. If manually confirmed after the request has been filed, then you'll be able to see the above linked poll itself. Keep in mind that as long as you definitely meet this criteria, you should be fine for the most part in getting the okay to view our profile page itself as well as the linked poll.

That's all for now; if you have any further questions about said announcement here, please don't hesitate to let me know. Take care for now, everyone; I'm out.

January 2024 (New Year's) Greetings / What's Being Planned For This Month

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 - 08:54 AM

The 2024 image featuring the Super Mario series' cast courtesy of Nintendo

Although this is one day late since yesterday was an actual holiday (go figure!), I want to wish all of you faithful friends/followers/listeners of these beloved music operations as a whole a very awesome 2024 which is now officially in action (and as of today, we're all back to normal routines full force in general).

So here's what's going on during the course of this month: right now, I'm still rejuvenating from all the Christmas and New Year's Eve holday happenings that we went through late last month (which also included making those final Super Nintendo music styled arrangements for the previous year as well) and I still have to start taking care of some business related matters outside of here in a few hours from now. But on the music operations side, after I'm definitely back in full strength and in normal groove routine, the plan is to work on writing a few new articles during the course of this month including, but not limited to:

* The "Year in Review" for 2023 (yes, we still have to look back at all the music arrangements posting activity we had here; watch for this in the next few weeks!)
* There might be at least one new "Music Instrument Set Clarification" article being written this month due to a certain newly featured Super Nintendo music instrument set being added to our endeavors late last month (hint: check the announcement posting I made involving new covers focused on songs from Mario Tennis Open late last month).
* And last, but not least, there also might be a new article written for the "Music File Statistics" section because we still need to share where both the "Featured Mario Game Installments" and "Featured Super Nintendo Music Instrument Sets" categories stand as we start this new year (but man, there were a bunch of upsets to both lists, especially during the course of late last year!).

Yep, that's right, the main focus right now is to get these articles done during the course of this month before yours truly gets back to reviewing his planbook on what should be attacked next for our Super Nintendo music styled arrangements for 2024 (including what's still sitting in this queue hoping for more progress is to be made there). And here's hoping that the odds will be in my favor to finally find the breakthroughs needed to clear this backlog off once and for all before new candidates for future song covers come knocking.

Until then, and in the meantime, friendly reminder that you still play a part in helping me find those new "candidates" in question especially as we start this new year; if you haven't done so already and/or if you've found some new candidates that you hope will reach my planbook in the weeks and months to come this year, make sure to let me know about it via the online forms on this section of our site. And don't forget to see about joining our community portals as well (including Twitter (X)DiscordIRC, and SoundCloud) so you still don't miss a thing during the course of this brand new year. Thanks once again for still being a part of these endeavors from your truly still doing Super Nintendo music styled covers involving the modern Mario game series and here's hoping for the very best as we start this 2024 journey together. See you awesome people later.
