"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" Release Week - Quick Reminders

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, April 8, 2023 - 04:36 PM

Good afternoon, friends; I'm hoping that this Easter weekend has been treating you awesome people/listeners/supporters of these beloved music operations as a whole well. Although this posting is technically not focused on any news regarding what's going on with yours truly regarding music operations stuff on the backend, there are two angles of this post that I definitely want to make sure you all know about since this is Mario series related... and as you can tell, it's already a big deal for all of us Mario videogame series supporters as a whole.

First of all, as we should be already aware by now, this is the release week for the highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. Movie (from Universal Pictures, Nintendo, and Illumination). In just about a short while from now, I'll be heading to my town's local movie theater to snag this opportunity to see this movie for myself and I'm looking forward to what's about to be shared via possible shoutouts to certain elements of what made Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. videogame series insanely popular in the first place that's still getting the massive following today; I expect nothing less, so I'm keeping fingers crossed that my movie theater visit will definitely be worth it tonight.

Second, this is also to let you know once again that on the "music" front, the score itself for said movie (which is composed by Bryan Tyler) does not qualify for me to find any Super Nintendo music styled covers to do. My focus still remains in finding songs from modern videogame installments for the Mario videogame series in general (including main installments, spinoff installments, and branched installments, of course). With that said, to all us music fanatics in general - I highly recommend that after we've snagged our respective chances to see the Super Mario Bros. Movie itself that we make sure to see about supporting Bryan Tyler and his composing work by getting the related official soundtrack; more information on that can be found on this page from the folks at iam8bit (including how we can see about purchasing said album; as of the date and time of this posting, they are now accepting preorders).

Time for me to end this here because my ride to the town's movie theater can be arriving at any moment. See you awesome people later, and let's make sure to give our all supporting this very important milestone for Nintendo's Super Mario videogame as a whole. Take care for now.

April 2023 Greetings: "Recovering" From The Past 1 - 2 Weeks

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, April 3, 2023 - 09:24 PM

Hey there, faithful friends/followers/listeners of these beloved music operations as a whole; hope all of you are still with yours truly as we now officially begin the "second quarter" of the 2023 year. The thing is that for me, as I briefly stated in this previous entry, I was unfortunately going through some "health turbulence" during the past 1 - 2 weeks; additionally, I was very busy writing an "opening statement" for a certain close family member of mine who as I elaborated in previous blog entries here months ago, passed away in early December of last year. Because of my "common cold" ailment (as well as a "tonsilitis issue" making it worse) that I had to endure from those past 1 - 2 weeks, I wasn't able to even make it to a planned virtual meeting to read that statement personally; however, a close family relative was able to read it on my behalf last night while I've been resting and recovering to get back to full strength for the start of this new work week (and the new month as well for these music operations).

Here's the case: I'm still in "rest"/"recovery" mode at this time (but I am closing in on getting back to full strength full force; thanks be to the Lord on that). And I am going to need to be in that "full strength" mode again because during the course of this month, I need to snag the time to see about writing that promised "music operations formal anniversary statement" for 2023 (and especially before the "summer months period" arrives come next month). As you are all already aware, the respective online form allowing you to send suggestions to me related to my preparing to write the document has now been closed until we see about doing this process again for the 2024 year. I won't disclose details in regards to what is being planned to be elaborate in the upcoming statement itself for this year, but I will say that apparently, we've got some... concerning times... coming not just for these music operations as a whole, for anyone who does videogame music arrangements opreations in general. The "threats" aimed at us have been showing themselves slowly in the past years, but not in a magnitude like what I've been personally encountering as of late. You'll find out what those threats in question are when I get that anniversary statement for 2023 written up and posted in due time. Stay tuned.

On the music arrangement planbook end regarding upcoming Super Nintendo music styled covers: I'm still checking on things on the backend before I decide on what to aim for next. I'm aware that according to our "Music Arrangements Progress Page", there are still stuff that's been in "dormancy" regarding upcoming music covers focused on songs from Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. The thing is that I still need a clearer head so I'll get a better idea about how I'm going to attack this part of the backlog, so your patience is still greatly appreciated. Not only that, but there's also a certain "someting" that I might have to prepare for down the road that's also related to future Super Nintendo music styled covers; however, the details are still under lock and key. Maybe this will be talked about even more in the upcoming 2023 "anniversary statement" as well; God only knows.

Until then, I thank you all once again for bearing with me as I get myself resituated to get back in my music operations/music arrangement groove for this new month of April. In the meantime, if you haven't done so already, please don't forget about your able to submit a follower request at our music operation's Twitter accountsubmit a temporary invite link request to our Discord serverjoin our IRC channel on EsperNet, and make sure to follow us on SoundCloud. We definitely are still in need of new interested people of these beloved music operations to join us, especially as we get ready to enter into the "summer months" period in a few weeks from now; plus, you don't want to miss any new exciting happenings when they do arrive and that include the upcoming anniversary statement for 2023 when I finish write it up before May, God willing. Take care for now until I see you awesome people again next time around; I'm gone for now.

REMINDER: 2023 Anniversary Statement Suggestion Online Form Submissions Close Tomorrow (3/31/2023)!

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, March 30, 2023 - 09:45 PM

Good evening, friends; hope that all has been well on your end of things this week. As for yours truly, the reason why I've been really dormant on both the frontend and backend of these music operations as a whole is because earlier this week, the adversarial forces just had to attack me with the severe case of "common cold", which even includes the dreaded "tonsilitis" to make things worse. It had me forced to take a lot of legitimate medications in my arsenal and when it was safe to do so, head for my local Wal-Mart (masked up for safety reasons, of course) to even get a humidifier as well. So far, all angles have been slowly working in my favor and I'm starting to get back to full strength bit by bit. I'm not there yet, but I do hope that during the course of next week, I will be at "full strength", especially as we start the new month of April.

That said, and to the point of this blog entry posting - if you haven't snagged the time to fill out this online form to let me know about what you hope I'll see about addressing in my writing our music operation's annual statement for 2023, then your time is literally running out. As of the date and time of this posting you have a little over 24 hours to get this taken care of because when the deadline hits tomorrow, the form will close rendering any more submissions after that nulled. So once again, please don't wait until it's too late on this matter in question. To those of you who have managed to send me suggestions for this year's upcoming "Anniversary Statement Document for 2023", thank you very much as always; I will be reviewing each one very carefully in hopes it'll also give me clues in hopes on how I should see about writing the document next month (as well as the "writing approach/strategy") for it. I still do have an idea somewhat in regards to what definitely needs to be shared/addressed for this year, but don't forget that you all still play a part in the process to help guide me through the planning process too.

That's all for now, and once again, please don't wait until this form itself closes once again tomorrow night for the 2023 year! See you all next time around; I'm out.

Newest Batch of "Mario Tennis Aces" Song Covers Posted (Along With One New Featured Instrument Set)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 - 08:49 PM

A lot of apologies for the delays on this one due to an avalanche of real life cirumstances getting in my way for the past few weeks, everyone; tonight, I've finally snagged the chance to get these three new Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers targeting more stuff from the Nintendo Switch game Mario Tennis Aces.

Not only that, but one of the below three listed song covers involves a newly added featured Super Nintendo music instrument set in tow. For the song cover that I did which targets the "tutorials section" for that "Temple of Bask" locale in Mario Tennis Aces' "Adventure Mode", the instrument set involved is from Ocean's RoboCop 3 (created and composed by Jonathan Dunn). It's unclear if this will be called upon again in future song covers in general, but it's great to know we've got a new "member" in this "featured music instrument set family" after nearly three to four years since late December of 2020.

On a related note, as a result of this, our "Music Arrangement File Statistics" Rankings Document got rocked again; on the "Featured Mario Game Installments" side, Mario Tennis Aces is now tied at the #16 rank (along with Super Mario 3D Land). As for the "Featured Super Nintendo Music Instrument Sets" side, both Mega Man Soccer and Lethal Enforcers are now tied at #22 and #16 respectively (the Lethal Enforcers music instrument set is tied with Captain America and the Avengers and Biker Mice from Mars; the Mega Man Soccer music instrument set is tied with SmartBall and Disney's Bonkers). The RoboCop music instrument set makes its debut at #31 (tied with Mightly Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition). Only time will tell if both categories involving the above mentioned Mario game(s)/featured Super Nintendo music instrument sets will get rocked even further after tonight's posting.

But enough talk of the above, here are the new file links in question related to this announcement:

New File No.
Song Title
SNES Music Arrangement Style/Featured Instrument Set
1
Tournament Mode Theme
Mega Man Soccer
2
Adventure Mode: Temple of Bask (Tutorials)
RoboCop 3
3
Staff Credits
Lethal Enforcers

Also don't forget if you believe that if you've found a song candidate from the Mario Tennis Aces game which you think and also hope that I'll take into consideration for my planbook in the weeks and months ahead, don't hesitate to let me know via this online form in question; just ensure that you have selected the Mario Tennis Aces option from the list dropdown in question 2A. And as always, if you have any problems with accessing the recently added music arrangement files in the above table, please let me know immediately via the main contact form. Thanks once again for your patience on this, everyone; see you all later.
