Extras - Other Stuff - Music Files Update (5/21/'19): "Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker" Making That "Adventurous" Leap!

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, May 20, 2019 - 01:16 PM

That's right, friends; you all are not reading that title wrong. If you folks can recall the previous article that I've written regarding the "rankings document shakeup" after my posting the latest batch of Super Nintendo music style arrangements targeting the score of Super Mario Odyssey (which you can find the announcement post here), it literally rocked the charts... especially on the "featured Super Mario (and branched) game installments" category! No doubt that the said installment in question is fighting neck and neck to grab the #1 spot; but let's just say that it got a little competition in regards to my posting SNES music style arrangement covers targeting the score of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Read further in terms of why I say this below.

Rankings list comparison between March 10, 2019 and May 21, 2019 involving the featured "Super Mario" and branched videogame installments
(Click above thumbnail image for a larger version.)

First, the above image is targeting the "Featured Mario (and branched) Installments" of our "Music File Statistics Rankings Document". On the left was where said rankings stood as of March 10, 2019; on the right is where the rankings for these operations stand now (as of May 21, 2019). Here's the thing: in the case of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, although Captain Toad (and Toadette) isn't able to "jump" in this game, the featured installment on the music arrangement front here sure did... from the #15 spot to the #5 spot (a 10 rank difference)! And the thing is that I'm not done with planning a few more arrangments from this installment yet; however, I have to rejuvenate and focus on clearing other targets from other specificed Mario (and branched) games from my planbook's backlog.

Rankings list comparison between March 10, 2019 and May 21, 2019 involving the featured Super Nintendo music instrument sets for these operations
(Click above thumbnail image for a larger version.)

As for the "featured Super Nintendo music instrument sets" for these operations, because of the recent music arrangement additions update from a little over one week ago, the rankings category for our document got impacted there as well involving three featured set. More specifically, the Super Castlevania IV set (Konami) to a slight leap from #21 to be tied with the Mega Man Soccer set (Capcom); the Animaniacs set (Konami) made a leap from the #16 spot to the #12 spot (tying with the instrument set done for The Adventures of Batman & Robin, also developed/published by Konami). And finally, the instrument set done for Hudson Soft's Inspector Gadget game - it moved up one spot to the #6 position (which was previously held by the instrument set of Konami's Castlevania: Dracula X game).

And that's where things stand as of today; however, as you all already know, as the weeks and months progress, you never know when these two "rankings categories" will get rocked again as new Super Nintendo music style arrangements get posted for these operations, so as always, make sure to check for any new articles that may get made for this section as this document itself gets update and there's something noteworthy to mention as a result of said update. Any further questions that need my explaining further to you folks, please don't hesitate to email me. I'm out for now.
