Two News Briefings: Incoming Nintendo Direct Rescheduled/Music File Update Incoming Shortly

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 - 11:56 AM

Been very busy with other obligations outside of this place, everyone; however, there are two things in which I've just snagged the chance to see about sharing with you all before I prepare to head out on this awesome Wednesday.

First, we've just received word that the Nintendo Direct that was supposed to be posted last Thursday, but delayed due to the recent Japan earthquake/typhoon events (as stated here) has now been rescheduled for tomorrow, September 13th. The posting times are still the same, however; and once again, I'll be checking the presentation out very closely to see about any possilble Super Nintendo music style arrangement candidates on the horizon from any featured Mario game installments that may be shown (once again, I'm hoping that at least the upcoming Super Mario Party will be one of them). The "outlook" for any featured Mario game installments shown in the upcoming presentation will be on a separate page and I'll let you all know when it gets added to our site. Stay tuned.

Second, and this is just a heads-up: in regards to this recent music update that I have posted a few days ago, it's come to my attention that one of the two files may need to have a quick revision done as soon as possible. I'm working on taking care of this matter as we speak; as soon as I get this dealt with, I'll let you know at my very earliest opportunity.

That's it for now; take care until next entry, and I'll see you all tomorrow after we've checked out the Direct. I'm out for now.

"Super Mario Odyssey": Two SNES Music Style Arrangements of Vocal Songs Are Now Here!

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, September 8, 2018 - 10:51 AM

I've been waiting to get these two Super Nintendo music style arrangement targets focused on certain songs from Super Mario Odyssey for a very long time now. And thank heavens, the process for these two new additions to our music operations (and your wait to listen to them, of course) is finally over. And if you couldn't tell by the corresponding pictures that are attached with this blog entry below this paragraph, you may have already guessed the clues in terms of which songs in question I was going after.

Brace yourselves, all - it is both vocal songs that have been written for the Super Mario Odyssey game: I have targeted the Metro Kingdom - New Donk City Festival version of "Jump Up, Super Star!"(which as you also already know is the main theme song for Super Mario Odyssey), as well as "Break Free (Lead the Way)" (the song heard during the "escape process" of Honeylune Ridge in the Moon Kingdom) to do the Super Nintendo music style arrangement process on.

Now it has been a given that during the Super Nintendo days back in the early 1990s, composers have been doing the "arrangement process" when it comes to theme songs on certain occasions. These two Super Nintendo music style arrangements that have been posted here today are my first attempts at targeting vocal songs in question. The former one is using the SNES music instrument set of Disney's Aladdin (developed/published by Capcom) to definitely match the big band/jazz style of said SMO theme song, while the latter is using the SNES music instrument set of Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge to match the high energy of that song there.

As for the files themselves, you're able to access them below:

* "Jump Up, Super Star!" ("Super Mario Odyssey" Theme Song - New Donk City Festival Version) (Disney's Aladdin (SNES Version - Capcom) Arrangement)
* "Break Free (Lead the Way)" (Moon Kingdom - Honeylune Ridge: Escape Version) (Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge Arrangement)

And of course, even after listening to these two Super Nintendo music style arrangements that I've done here, if you haven't had the chance to hear the two vocal songs themselves (especially "Jump Up, Super Star!"), then what in God's name are you waiting for? I urge you to do so. Now. Additionally, you can view the lyrics to these said two songs themselves here and here.

Finally, on a side note - Nintendo, you can't fool us... even though it's a definite that Pauline was the main star who performed the Super Mario Odyssey theme song, I honestly believe that she definitely performed that "Break Free (Lead the Way)" song as well! And I hope I'm not the only one who is making this huge assumption either.

With that all said, as always, if you encounter any problems with accessing the two new arrangement files in question, don't hesitate to let me know via email form, IRC channel, the forums, or our Discord. Thanks in advance, everyone, I'm out.

"Nintendo Direct" Incoming For 9/6/'18 (UPDATE: Delayed Due to the Recent Japan Earthquake)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 - 10:17 AM

Heads-up, friends: we have just received word that a new Nintendo Direct is incoming during the course of tomorrow, September 6th. The presentation announcing and/or giving updates to specified games will be posted during the course of 6:00 P.M. (EST)/3:00 P.M. (PST). As always, you're able to check out the presentation when it goes live by going here.

As for us and these music operations, you all should know the drill right about now if you've been with us for a while: I'll be keeping a close lookout for any Super Mario (and branched) videogame installments that may be featured in this said presentation tomorrow to see if there may be possible Super Nintendo music style arrangement candidates that I might be targeting from what may be shown. If there are any that are planned to be shown (however, I am hoping that the upcoming Super Mario Party installment for the Switch will be featured), I'll make sure to post a "music arrangement outlook" for it on a separate entry.

Until then, let's hope for the best that the folks at Nintendo Japan will deliver again and not disappoint us. I'm out for now.

UPDATE (9/6/'18, 2:51 A.M. (CST)): The scheduled planned Nintendo Direct presentation has been postponed due to recent major earthquake events that occured in Hokkaido, Japan (see this Twitter posting). They'll let us know of a new date after they get a chance to recover from this situation. We're sending our prayers to the entire Nintendo company at this time.

September 2018 Greetings: The "Final Four Months" Are Here!

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 - 07:10 PM

No joke about that, everyone; you've heard right... we have now entered into the final four months of the 2018 year, and you can bet that yours truly is more than ready to get through this quarter. We've definitely made some progress during the third quarter ("summer months" period) which had the addition of our newest Discord Portal, as well as getting in some new Super Nintendo music style arrangements targeting the addictive score of Mario Kart Arcade GP DX (which in case you haven't gotten the news about that, you can read all about it here).

But even after all that, my Super Nintendo music style arrangement groove for these operations still forges on, friends. Case in point: as I am writing this, I have been working on the Super Nintendo music style arrangements of two very important songs in relation to Super Mario Odyssey. Details are still under lock and key in regards to what those songs in question are; however, I am happy to say that the two upcoming files in question are on standby for the "finalization process". I hope I can see about getting them posted to share with you all prior to the coming weekend; however, I have been sorting out some personal matters outside of here, which includes having to "shelter in place" with the rest of my family and friends because of the huge tropical storm threat under the name of "Gordon".

But thankfully, if my cards are played right and I get that said "outside business" done when conditions improve this coming Thursday, I can see about taking care of the finalization of those two upcoming arrangement files focused on the two Super Mario Odyssey songs in question. And I believe without a doubt that you're going to love them from start to finish upon my posting them in due time.

There may be other surprises for these operations during the course of this month after I take care of posting the two upcoming Super Mario Odyssey files; God only knows. But you know the drill: keep tabs on this front page, the forums, our Twitter, our IRC channel, and even our Discord for any new developments as they occur for these operations, and let's start this final quarter of the period on a very high note! Take care for now, everyone; I'll see you all later.
