New Section Implemented: "Special Tributes"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, June 28, 2018 - 04:07 PM

This afternoon, friends, it gives me great pleasure to announce that it looks like we may have closed in on getting the majority of "previous content" from our music operation's previous "home base" site layout/blog system... by now adding a Special Tributes section! Like the announcement that I posted last night, this newest section that got added here today can be found here (under the "Other Stuff" sub section for the "Extras" tab).

If you all can recall, I have posted two Super Nintendo music style arrangement "tributes" for these operations so far: one targeting the "staff credits music" for Super Mario 3D World (done in memory of the late Robin Williams, actor/comedian extraordinare) and the "Bounding Through Time" song for Super Paper Mario (done back in 2016 to reflect on the "fifteen year anniversary" of said terrorist attacks that occured in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania).

Once again, those two above mentioned "tribute pages" can now be found under this listing. And as always, if there are any new Super Nintendo music style arrangements that have a "tribute" attached to it as the months forge ahead, I'll be sure to let you faithful followers/listeners know as soon as they get finalized and posted. Later, everyone.

New Section Implemented: "Instrument Set Clarifications"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 09:10 PM

Tonight, friends, I am pleased to announce that as part of our "restoration efforts" to bring back certain content from the previous site layout that we had before having to switch hosting providers (and changing our blogging system for the main website as well), a new section for our "Other Stuff" category (under the "Extras" tab) has now been implemented: Instrument Set Clarficiations!

If you all can recall from the previous site, there have been certain situations in which I had to explain which certain Super Nintendo games in question I was using music instrument set wise as I've been doing the arrangement process itself for specified songs since there has been a rare case that certain games may fall under a "series", but have different instrument sound styles. Once again, this section that's just been added to our site should help clear things up.

This also results in certain "clarfication pages" to be restored under that section that I have written so far targeting these Super Nintendo games in question:

* Disney's Magical Quest (The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse / The Great Circus Mystery Starring Mickey & Minnie) - Capcom
* Disney's Aladdin - Capcom
* Disney's Bonkers - Capcom

You can find these three above pages by clicking this link.

Also, once I finish site content restoration itself (hopefully before this month is completely out), I'll be working on writing a new page for this section talking about the Super Nintendo music instrument set that was done for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (which as you can also recall, was the newest featured set for our operations here as I was doing arrangements targeting the musical score of Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash). Watch for it soon. I'm out for now.

"Mario Tennis Aces": Release Day/Got A Green Light Already Music Arrangement Process Wise

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, June 22, 2018 - 08:19 PM

Mario Tennis Aces has now hit the store shelves and we are already making plans on the Super Nintendo music style arrangement front of this thing! Read on for more details.

Two things that I have to share with you before I prepare to get into the "weekend mode", and both pertain to Mario Tennis Aces.

First, as all of us should already be aware - the latest iteration of the Mario Tennis spinoff installments by Nintendo and Camelot has hit store shelves worldwide for the Nintendo Switch console. And from what I've seen and heard so far, the majority are saying that this was the kind of Mario Tennis installment that they've been waiting for ever since the Gamecube version was added to that family (which, as most can recall, came under the name of Mario Power Tennis). And some are saying that this reaches the standards of that Gamecube game, plus a whole lot more. I'll find out soon enough when I get my Nintendo Switch console itself as well as a copy of this game in due time.

But that doesn't mean that my sources are not telling me to make preparations to do Super Nintendo music style arrangements in due time. On the contrary: some folks in the gaming journalist community have recently been posting gameplay videos of Mario Tennis Aces via Youtube, at it looks like someone has managed to finish the primary aspect of this game and post the staff credits from it. And it's there that we have already gotten the "green light" regarding composer information for this game, and it is indeed the composing style of our "usual suspect" who's been at it for every Mario Tennis installment every done. And you can bet that I'll be looking forward to doing the Super Nintendo music arrangement style process regarding songs from this game; two existing instrument sets are going to be on standby, along with another one which will be making it's "debut" for these operations down the road.

Stay tuned, friends; long story short: Super Nintendo music style arrangements of the Mario Tennis Aces score will be coming your way for these operations very soon! Keep it locked on when said page for it on this site goes live. Later, everyone.

Your Site/Operations Suggestions Still Needed!

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, June 21, 2018 - 07:42 AM

This is just a quick reminder to all of you that I'm still patiently waiting to hear from you all regarding what site management and/or music operations suggestions that you may have for us to check further into, especially as we are about to reach the "halfway point" of the 2018 year. As I pointed out in the previous entry before this one, although I've still been dealing with "personal matters" getting in the way even though we're slowly on the road to recovery in regards to getting things back to complete normalcy around here, that doesn't mean that I don't take the time to listen to what you folks have to suggest which will give me possible clues on the next steps to take as we prepare for the 2018 year's second half.

As was also pointed out in a previous entry, the "forum portal area" of our site is still currently closed at this time; in the meantime, you are still able to use this email form to get in contact with me, especially in regards to filing your suggestions for the site and/or the music operations itself. You're able to see about reaching me on our music operation's IRC channel, our Twitter account, or even our SoundCloud account; however, it's highly suggested that you send your suggestion inquires to me via email first before anything else.

Thanks in advance, everyone, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. Take care for now.
