ATTENTION: "DISCORD PORTAL" SERVER INVITE LINK REQUEST FORM TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Although I have managed to reclaim my respective Discord account itself as of 4/9/2024, we're still doing some backend "recovery efforts" before we start accepting Discord server invite link requests again. More details here; your patience and understanding in advance is greatly appreciated.

April 2022 Greetings: "2nd Quarter" Starts With "Unwanted Backend Turbulence" / Other News Tidbits

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, April 1, 2022 - 10:58 AM

Hey there, friends; we have now officially started the "2nd Quarter" of the 2022 year for these operations. Although I do hope that you all are starting this brand new month well (but definitely watch out for those insane "April Fools" pranks, especially on the Internet!), there are a few tidbits that I need to announce and believe me, they're obviously not a joke.

First and foremost, and this just had to happen on my personal backend during the course of last night. The situation is this: I had to see about getting a new WiFi router for my house to connect to the Internet; however, when I attempted to go through the process and see about getting it rolling, the WiFi router itself started being a stupid prick which resulted in my desktop computer having a very hard time connecting to the router itself. I called the customer service department to discuss about the issue and having tried twice in terms of trying to get the situation resolved, they say it may be the SIM card that's the culprit; as I write this from my town's library before having to deal with work obligations outside of here today, they're supposed to send me a replacement SIM card which will take about one week to arrive at my house... which means that my availability to take care of music operations stuff on the backend may be limited before then unless I'm at my town library (which obviously isn't every single day, of course!). This includes the needed site updating on the backend and/or dealing with any new email correspondence that I receive (including general inquiries, join requests for our related Discord server, and so forth). But rest assured that I haven't forgotten about any of you faithful friends/followers of these operations and I'll try my best to check music operations correspondence when I do get the earliest opportunity to head for the town libraries during the next week. I've gotten through this kind of situation before, and I'm sure I'll be able to prevail through it again. I appreciate your understanding in advance.

Slightly switching gears, but still on the music operations side of things - the main goal for me during the course of this month is to take care of writing up our formal "anniversary statement document" for 2022. I do have an idea about what needs to be addressed upon writing the document as well as the approach I'll take; however, I need to take care of some other stuff before I begin the writing process itself. But this thing is certain: I definitely want to make sure to get this "anniversary statement" itself dealt with before this month is over and especially before we slowly approach the "summer months period" which usually starts happening between late May and early June. I still can't guarantee that all will go according to plan, but I do have an idea about how I want to approach this and I do to get this done so that I can get back into the music arrangement groove again and clear out this backlog even more.

Once again, I thank you all in advance for your heartfelt patience during this time. As always, I'll keep you folks posted on all angles when I get the chance regarding any new developments for these music operations as a whole and if you have any further questions after reading this post, please don't hesitate to send me an email about your matters. Take care until I see you all again during the course of this brand new month; I'm gone for now. Stay safe, everyone.

"Super Mario 3D Land" - New Arrangement Cover Added: The "Retro Courses"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, March 31, 2022 - 05:58 PM

New Super Nintendo music styled arrangement cover coming at you to close out this month of March, awesome people! And as you can tell from the blog entry's title and the song that was targeted for the cover process, something tells me that many of you faithful friends/followers/listeners are going to be happy to hear this.

That's right, the new cover in question is targeting yet another "iconic song" from Super Mario 3D Land - more specifically, the song which is heard when we are navigating certain "retro courses" from said installment. And believe me, it was still a challenge for yours truly to do a Super Nintendo music styled cover of this song in hopes of trying to match the original tune itself (like this previous addition that I posted from nearly two years ago, the arrangement styling here uses the instrument set heard from the SNES game Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind (Accolade/Solid Software; Matt Berardo, composer)). Here's hoping you'll find this cover as addictive as the original song itself from the Super Mario 3D Land installment.

As for the new file itself, you're able to grab it below:

New File No.
Song Title
SNES Music Arrangement Style/Featured Instrument Set
1
Retro Courses
Bubsy: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind

That's all for now; if there are any issues with checking out the new file addition in question, please don't hesitate to let me know. Take care until next time around, everyone.

"Anniversary Statement Suggestions Form (2022)" - Submission Deadline Extended to 3/25/2022

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, March 18, 2022 - 04:59 PM

Good afternoon, friends; a quick announcement for you all before I prepare to switch gears into the "weekend mode" in a few hours - I've been playing literal catch up on almost everything on the backend regarding these music operations as a whole include preparing to plan my next moves for upcoming Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers to share with you all. This also includes getting things in order to start the process of writing our annual formal "anniversary statement document" for the 2022 year.

Speaking of which, due to this activity on the backend both in and outside of these music operations (as well as other "real life matters"), it has been decided that the deadline for submissions from this related online suggestion form has been extended by one week so I can receive more responses from you faithful friends/followers/listeners before making my final plans in writing the document.

However, another forewarning - please don't wait until the last minute. This is the only "deadline extension" that will be granted for the submission form. No more responses from it will be accepted after the end of 3/25/2022; the form is now scheduled to close at that time.

Thanks again to those of you who have sent me your suggestions so far in my preparations to write the upcoming anniversary statement document for 2022. I'll still be finding the time to review each one and get back with you all if I have any further questions. Take care until next time around, and you all have a great weekend. I'm gone for now.

"Music File Statistics" Document Update As of 3/15/2022

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 - 07:13 PM

This got overlooked on my "to do list" for these operations since earlier this month; as of tonight, I have finally snagged the chance to get our "Music File Statistics" document updated to reflect the file additions that were made earlier this month which involved Super Nintendo music styled covers targeting a certain batch of songs from Mario Party Superstars.

According to our related changelog, there have been no rankings advancements on the featured Super Nintendo music instrument set end of the document. However, on the featured Mario game installments end, Mario Party Superstars makes its debut at number 30; only time will tell if this said game in question will advance up the list as the months forge ahead.

That's it for now, everyone; as always, keep it here for any new developments on this front as they happen. See you all later.
