Still Searching For Music File "Finalization Alternatives"; Where Things Stand Now
Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, August 21, 2020 - 09:09 PM
Okay, all; listen up: as you all are undoubtedly aware, thanks to all the major wrenches that were throw in everyone's direction including mine due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it has literally hampered my efforts to a crawl in regards to doing "finalization procedures" on new Super Nintendo music style arrangement files that I've been working on since late March of this year. And as you can already tell from this page, the queue just keeps growing to the point in which at the date and time of this posting, a total of 42 files are staring at me in the face right now.
Here's the situation at this time: I've just gotten word that one of the places where I usually go to do the "finalization procedures" for upcoming Super Nintendo music style arrangement covers is being planned to open its doors again. The bad news: I'm considered a "visitor", and the place is still going to be "off limits" (along with their hours being very limited to essential personell). In short, I'm still not able to head for said place until this COVID-19 pandemic is officially declared over once there's evidence that there has been a decrease in new cases worldwide and/or a related COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough has been found and declared "safe to use" that'll finally get this health threat quashed over time.
Which also brings me to this: as I'm writing this, I'm still on the search for other "music file finalization" alternatives which I hope will be the answer that I seek in bringing our "upcoming files queue" down during the course of the "final four months" which will be approaching our doorstep in less than two weeks from now. Additionally, at this time, outside of these operations, I have managed to see about finding new "temporary work" for the remainder of the "summer months period" (and maybe during the fall season) which I hope will give me the funding needed to get additional flash drives that I'll need to proceed with finalization stuff once I find the said breakthrough needed to do the process itself.
In the meantine, I still appreciate your patience in advance as I get all of these matters sorted out slowly, but surely. This has been a huge nightmare for yours truly since mid-March due to COVID-19, and it's still to blame as to why there haven't been any new Super Nintendo music style arrangement postings since then. But I still assure you that they are coming, and I do hope we can get this rolling again once we get into the "final four months" period. I'll of course keep you posted on any new happenings on this case as they occur; until then, all of you continue to stay safe as we still battle through this major hurdle together. I'm out for now.

Quick "Heads-Up" Regarding Existing Site Forms
Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, August 21, 2020 - 08:34 PM
Note that as this blog entry's title states, this is targeting the three forms that we already have in action on this site including the primary email inquiry form, the "Forum Portal" inquiry form (for when that section of the site returns), and the "Discord Portal" Temporary Invite Link Request form.
I may have briefly elaborated about this on the previous entry here, but it still deserves a separate quick announcement about the matter. Due to Formspree (the system that's doing the form submission process for us on the backend) requiring users of their services to create accounts to manage forms being created, due to our related account being in the "free" status, the "custom redirects" that I originally had after you folks actually submit the forms are not "active" at this time unless I purchase a subscription to "attach" with the account. Hopefully I'll see about getting an opportunity to take care of this down the road, but not now because I'm dealing with other more important obligations at this time.
That said, it bears repeating that you still have nothing to worry about upon your submission of the forms that I have linked to above (as well as the two new ones which I hope to get in action for this site entirely during the corse of next week). The only difference is that you'll instead get a "confirmation" from Formspree themselves that the form has been submitted after pressing the send button. You still have to clear the CAPTCHA process itself before the submission is complete, however. Additionally, after you get the confirmation from Formspree, you'll head to the form page itself to continue browsing of this site.
Your understanding of this situation is still greatly appreciated in advance at this time. Take care for now, everyone; I'm out for now.

Formspree "Backend System" Updated; Now Requires A "Related Account"
Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, August 21, 2020 - 08:16 PM
Another "follow up" in regarding to our being in the "final stretch" to get the upcoming forms for this site that I briefly discussed about on previous posts implemented before this month of August is over: I received an answer from the support staff at Formspree (the ones who do the "processing" of the forms that we have implemented for this site including the primary email contact form, the email contact form for "Forum Portal" related matters (when that section of the site finally comes back online), and the "Discord Portal" temporary invite link request form. They have stated to me that before any new forms could get implemented after this point that I had to create a new account that would serve as a "hub" for my management of them; as a result, I made sure to take care of this during the past late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning timeframe.
There is still nothing to worry about because the existing forms themselves in question after I checked them out are still working as intended and you all are still required to go through the CAPTCHA process prior to submitting any inquiries to me. However, because the account that I've created with Formspree is under the "free status", I'm not able to have the forms redirect to custom "thank you/form submitted" pages on this site unless a "subscription" is attached with the account, but that's another story. But Formspree themselves will still give confirmation to you all about the completed forms being sent my direction after your submission; after that, it'll return you to the form's page itself to continue browsing this site.
I'll elaborate more on the existing forms themselves (along with the new ones that I'm about to finish work on) in another post; stay tuned.

Follow-Up On Upcoming "Suggestion Forms" - We're Just About Done
Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 - 08:04 AM
Blog entry's title says all, everyone; I'm just writing this quick follow-up post to let you all know that progress on the upcoming "suggestion forms" for this site has been coming along well and they are in the "final phases" before they officially go live. I spent all of last night (and very early this morning) getting the layout done for them on the frontend as well as the "coding" for the backend; however, I've run into a roadblock that's prompted me to contact the folks at Formspree to assist me in getting to the bottom of the matter that I'm experiencing. I did file a support ticket as of this morning and am now waiting for them to get back with me within a couple of hours to help me determine the next steps.
In the meantime, the details on the upcoming "Suggestion Forms" are still undisclosed; however, I can say that when the forms do officially go live (we're aiming for during the course of next week, but definitely before this month of August gets into the history books), there will be a total of two forms waiting for all of you faithful followers/listeners/visitors of these beloved music operations.
As always, I'll keep you posted on any new developements regarding this case on all angles. Keep it bookmarked here on the front page, and stay tuned, everyone. I'm out.
