May 2019 Greetings: "Summer Months" Countdown

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 - 10:13 AM

Hey, good morning, friends; we are now in the next to final month for the first half of this 2019 year! Thing is, as I stated in previous entries before this one, I've been going through a "health roadblock" since the past week (which included a combination of sinus pressure, nasal congestion, sore throat and chest congestion adversaries) resulting in my experiencing horrifying mental blocks that have kept me from progressing to finish my latest planned batch of Super Nintendo music style arrangements focused on the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker score. Thankfully, I've been able to take needed medications in four hour increments (along with needed rest) so that I can return to full strength; if all goes well, I hope I can resume my music arrangement efforts on aforementioned stuff here before the end of this week. Still no ETA on when the latest planned files will be posted, but I can assure you that I'll stay on top of things and keep you updated on this front page of the site.

With that said, as this entry title states, the countdown has now started as we get ready to approach the "summer months" period. For our music operations, we consider the "summer months" to cover the timespan of June, July, and August. My only hope this month (which of course, is not a guarantee that it will happen) is that after I get the lastest batch of upcoming music arrangements covering Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker out of the way, I can snag the time to clear the backlog of other stuff regarding targets that I've also been working on according to this page. But let's not forget that I also still have some "real life" situations that I'm dealing with outside of these music operations at this time, which also includes my continued efforts to land a job for the Monday - Friday/Saturday timeframe, so please keep fingers crossed for me that I'll finally have a breakthrough landed during the course of this month.

Finally, before I switch gears and prepare to head out and take care of some very important business outside of this place, this is a very good reminder to let all of you know that two of our "community interaction portal" really need a boost right now on the supporter fronts (and I'm not saying this out of being conceited or desperate). I'm still trying to find time on my schedule for looking into getting our site's Forum Portal area back in action (especially for the summer months); it's still the planned "main area" of community interaction, although I am aware that place has been "under maintenance" for months. Very depressing, I know. But at least the other two "interactivity portals" are still in good action: the IRC Portal and the Discord Portal. But... as I just stated, we still need to get new interested enthusiasts in those two areas... so if you are into Nintendo's Super Mario series as well as the efforts of doing covers of the "modern" songs in the Super Nintendo music style, please do not hesitate to join us (just make sure to abide by the rules of both portals, of course).

Until next entry, everyone; stay positive and let's hope for the absolute best in this new month! I'll see you all later.

Quick Update on a Few Music Operations Related Things

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, April 26, 2019 - 09:39 AM

Hey, good morning, friends; just a quick news update on a few things which are music operations related here.

(1) Google Drive - Closing In on a "Final Decision"
First, last week, I attempted to post a poll on our Twitter profile regarding finding a more reliable external file hosting candidate. Although it pains me that we haven't received any votes in the poll, I still have good news to report that I may be closing in on a final decision soon. I have, however, received correspondence from some of you via other channels like our IRC and Discord portals discussing about this same matter; rest assured, I am listening and am weighing my options accordingly. If it does result in my having to do a move of our music files to a Google Drive account, it won't be happening instantaneously; at the same time I'm writing this, I'm still trying to make more music arrangement progress on the backend so I can share new stuff with you before months end (and during the course of the beginning of the "summer months" which aren't far off).

(2) Music Arrangement Progress
Which brings me to this part of the news: I'm still hard at work trying to make more progress on three songs to complete the upcoming batch of my Super Nintendo music styled arrangements targeting the musical score of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. The sad thing is, at the time of this writing, I am currently battling a seriously annoying stufy nose/nasal congestion which has hampered my thinking clearly to get this done. Hopefully during the course of this weekend, this roadblock will die down so I can get back in form during the course of this weekend (after I get back home from church). Not only that, but after I see about getting this batch posted, I hope I can see about planning to take care of the remaining stuff on the backburner as shown on this page. Keep fingers crossed that I'll make it through regarding this angle, all!

That's all I've got for now regarding what's been going on for these music operations as a whole on the backend side of things; as always, if you have any further questions regarding what has been discussed here, please do not hesitate to send me an email and I'll make sure to get back with you as my schedule allows. Thanks in advance, everyone; I'm out.

Investigating A Possible External "File Hosting" Replacement Candidate; Your Opinions Needed

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, April 18, 2019 - 10:43 AM

Snagging the chance to relay this happening on the site, even though I originally started to address it to you faithful followers via our Discord server.

The case is this: I was approached by one person a few days ago about this external file hosting candidate called Google Drive (along with my receiving some complaints from other visitors about their finding it difficult to download our files stored on SaberCat Host, the current account that we've been using in connection with this site).

At this time, I'm still occupied with trying to finish up the latest batch of Super Nintendo music style arrangements focused on the Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker score; however, I am currently investigating the Google Drive route to see what they have to offer.

This is still where you folks come in, though: right now, I have just posted on our Twitter page a poll asking about if I should consider moving our music operation's arrangement files to the Google Drive platform or keeping them on SaberCat Host. You can access the posting itself on Twitter which has that poll by going here.

The poll itself expires in one week from today, so make sure to place in your votes before then! It would be greatly appreciated; thanks much in advance for your help on this, everyone.

"Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker": Latest Happenings as of 4/13/'19

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, April 13, 2019 - 09:35 PM

My heavens, it's been a few weeks since I've done a blog entry in general for these operations; very sorry about that, everyone. Since the last entry that I posted (which was the "monthly greetings entry" for this month of April, as you all are very well aware of), I've been dealing with a bunch of "real life business matters" which include my endless job search efforts in the hopes that I can finally land something for the Monday - Friday/Saturday timeframes of my weekly schedule outside of these music operations. At the time of this writing, I'm supposed to be meeting with one candidate during the course of this coming Monday morning to deal with paperwork (and also hoping for a breakthrough on that same day after filling out that paperwork), so keep fingers crossed for me there when that day comes.

That said, to the focus of this blog entry: despite all these "obstables" in my way, my Super Nintendo music style arrangement efforts on my next batch of stuff targeting songs from Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker continue in earnest! The past few weeks have had me make good progress and according to this page, I currently have 9 files "on standby" to be finalized and 3 files that I'm trying to find time to finish up on. I'm still on the fence on if I want to start on any new targets for the current upcoming batch at this time, but I definitely want to see about snagging the chance to finish the three files that I currently have in the "tracker procedure" mode. I'm determined to make sure I am able to see about sharing this latest batch of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker music arrangement stuff before the end of this month (also, hopefully, I can see about finding time to get into some more Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker gameplay sessions themselves to see if there are any more music arrangement targets that I may have missed for my planbook after this current batch gets posted).

Long story short: yes, I'm still working on sharing my newest batch of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker music arrangement stuff with you faithful followers very soon; in the meantime, if you haven't heard the existing Super Nintendo music style arrangements that I have done targeting the score of this game, I would definitely recommend that you check out this page as soon as possibile and make with the downloads/listening to them. You won't regret it.

Until then, take care until next entry and as always, keep it locked on this page for news about when this upcoming batch of said files become available for you all after they have been finalized. I'm gone for now.
