"Super Mario Odyssey": Two SNES Music Style Arrangements of Vocal Songs Are Now Here!
Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, September 8, 2018 - 10:51 AM
I've been waiting to get these two Super Nintendo music style arrangement targets focused on certain songs from Super Mario Odyssey for a very long time now. And thank heavens, the process for these two new additions to our music operations (and your wait to listen to them, of course) is finally over. And if you couldn't tell by the corresponding pictures that are attached with this blog entry below this paragraph, you may have already guessed the clues in terms of which songs in question I was going after.
Brace yourselves, all - it is both vocal songs that have been written for the Super Mario Odyssey game: I have targeted the Metro Kingdom - New Donk City Festival version of "Jump Up, Super Star!"(which as you also already know is the main theme song for Super Mario Odyssey), as well as "Break Free (Lead the Way)" (the song heard during the "escape process" of Honeylune Ridge in the Moon Kingdom) to do the Super Nintendo music style arrangement process on.
Now it has been a given that during the Super Nintendo days back in the early 1990s, composers have been doing the "arrangement process" when it comes to theme songs on certain occasions. These two Super Nintendo music style arrangements that have been posted here today are my first attempts at targeting vocal songs in question. The former one is using the SNES music instrument set of Disney's Aladdin (developed/published by Capcom) to definitely match the big band/jazz style of said SMO theme song, while the latter is using the SNES music instrument set of Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge to match the high energy of that song there.
As for the files themselves, you're able to access them below:
* "Jump Up, Super Star!" ("Super Mario Odyssey" Theme Song - New Donk City Festival Version) (Disney's Aladdin (SNES Version - Capcom) Arrangement) * "Break Free (Lead the Way)" (Moon Kingdom - Honeylune Ridge: Escape Version) (Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge Arrangement)
And of course, even after listening to these two Super Nintendo music style arrangements that I've done here, if you haven't had the chance to hear the two vocal songs themselves (especially "Jump Up, Super Star!"), then what in God's name are you waiting for? I urge you to do so. Now. Additionally, you can view the lyrics to these said two songs themselves here and here.
Finally, on a side note - Nintendo, you can't fool us... even though it's a definite that Pauline was the main star who performed the Super Mario Odyssey theme song, I honestly believe that she definitely performed that "Break Free (Lead the Way)" song as well! And I hope I'm not the only one who is making this huge assumption either.
With that all said, as always, if you encounter any problems with accessing the two new arrangement files in question, don't hesitate to let me know via email form, IRC channel, the forums, or our Discord. Thanks in advance, everyone, I'm out.
