Music Arrangements Outlook (Special Edition) - "Donkey Kong Bananza" Direct (6/18/2025)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 - 08:31 PM

Good evening, friends; I've just snagged the chance to see about writing this newest "Music Arrangements Outlook" article for our operation's "home base website" to mark this off my planbook before resting up. This time around, it's a "special edition" entry because as you all might already be aware, there was a dedicated "Nintendo Direct" presentation posted weeks back giving the main details of the second major game release that's planned to hit store shevles later on this month (specifically 7/17/2025) - and almost over one month after the release of Mario Kart World for the "Nintendo Switch 2" (in which the said console itself was also released worldwide along with the game installment). And that upcoming installment in question is named Donkey Kong Bananza; if you haven't had a chance to view said dedicated Nintendo Direct posting itself for the upcoming game, you're able to view it by going here.

To the chase on the music operation's planbook side of things, as many of you also know in regards to the history of these beloved endeavors as a whole, yours truly hasn't done any Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers of the "branched" games that have Donkey Kong as the focus. Here's the thing, though - although I'm still not in a position to give an overall "planning priority verdict" regarding doing upcoming Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers, there is one big angle that's got me having the musical score of this game on my planbook's radar when the 7/17/2025 release date hits.

That's right, awesome people - as you may have noticed from earlier in the presentation itself, we were given a big reveal that a "Young Pauline" is going to be on the scene! Prior to this, she was imprisoned by the "Void Company"'s evil magic (also known as "VoidCo") as they were also trying to make their expeditions through the underground layers of Ingot Isle with hopes of reaching the "Planet Core". It's only when Donkey Kong encounters this "Odd Rock" (while doing expeditions of the same Ingot Isle underground location to find "Banandium Gems"; only to be faced with the same "Void Company" opposition trying to block efforts from him as well), as well as the elders of Ingot Isle who grant "Bananza Powers" that this "Young Pauline" counterpart gets freed from the "Void Company"'s "Odd Rock" prison.

But that's not all... just like our iconic main Pauline character (who your's truly is a fan of, obviously, especially when the supporter fanbase literally got upped after the Super Mario Odyssey installment a few years back), this "young Pauline counterpart" has an exceptionally singing talent (even to the point of even helping Donkey Kong transform into certain "Bananza" creatures to solve certain situations within the exploration of the "Ingot Isle" subterranian levels)! No, I'm not kidding. And as what was shared in the presentation itself, young Pauline is also determined to reach the "Planet Core" in hopes to make a wish to return back to the surface (with the help of Donkey Kong, of course, despite his only caring for collecting all those "Banandium Gems"; both do agree that they need to reach that said "Planet Core" area first before the evil "VoidCo" does and causes even further destruction). But as you all know about yours truly being a diehard fan of the Mario female characters in general, which includes Pauline (and yes, this includes the "young Pauline" version), I'm sure we're in agreement in terms of helping this awesome "young Pauline" counterpart out as well so we can see what she's really made of with her awesome singing talent, especially when all is said and done in regards to resolving this crisis. Yeah, I know and can hear many of you asking: "Yeah, M. C., but what's your point in terms of your being focused on the 'young Pauline''s side of the story?" The reason is obvious: because there are featured songs in this game that are going to involve this same "Young Pauline" counterpart as well! And that one reason alone is why this upcoming game installment self is on our radar in the coming weeks after the release week for it arrives later this month.

Which brings me to what's currently being discussed for my planbook at this time when the release day arrives for Donkey Kong Bananza later this month. For the time being, it's being planned to focus on doing Super Nintendo music styled covers for most, if not all, of the already iconic songs featuring this same "young Pauline counterpart". Afterwards, when we get the oppoturnities in the months ahead, we might revisit this respective musical score again for Donkey Kong Bananza to see if there are some other songs in general that might be good candidates to take on because apparently, that side is not to be ignored either, just like with the Super Mario Odyssey musical score before it (speaking of which, it was also confirmed the other day that the majority of the said Super Mario Odyssey development team lent their skills to do the Donkey Kong Bananza project in general which explains some gameplay familiarities in terms of visuals and other mechanics).

The bottom line is this: as you all already know, yours truly has already done Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers focused on the two iconic songs that our main Pauline character performs for Super Mario Odyssey (which you're able to read more about by going to this article). So it's only fair to start getting ready to do this same challenge regarding the songs featuring "young Pauline" for the upcoming Donkey Kong Bananza installment for later on this month. And just like the said game itself, we're gonna have to experience one heck of a ride regarding the music arrangement process itself for those same songs in the hopes that it won't "drive us bananas" like DK and his "banana obsession" (including his tireless search for "Banandium Gems"). We're also hoping that we can get the chance to see this same "young Pauline" do performances in her "Diva Dress" too for this same game; that would be an awesome treat when all is said and done for an extraordinary adventure waiting for this featured duo.

Until then, my conscience says that I definitely need to end this article itself here before I tire myself out again. As always, if you have any further questions in regards to what has been shared on this posting itself, please don't hesitate to send an email my direction and I'll see about getting back to you about your inquiry after careful review. See you folks later.
