Music Arrangements Outlook - Nintendo Direct (6/18/2024): "Mario & Luigi: Brothership" / "Luigi's Mansion 2 HD" / "Super Mario Party Jamboree"Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, June 27, 2024 - 06:29 PM Good evening, awesome people - hope that things have been going all right with you all during this insanely hot and humid "summer months period"; as for yours truly, I've still been battling a bunch of adversarial forces trying to hold me back from making any kind of progress on these music operation endeavors (and I still have yet to get that "anniversary statement document" for 2024 posted on this site at last; don't worry I haven't forgetten about this - still keeping fingers crossed that it will also get done before months end!). But to the focus of this article posting itself: as we all should be very much aware, earlier last week on 6/18/2024, the latest Nintendo Direct presentation was posted giving announcements on what upcoming Nintendo Switch games have been currently in development and are set to release either in the latter part of this year or during the course of the earlier part of next year. But it seems that from the media that I've seen and gathered on the three announced Mario series game installments, they all have late 2024 release dates slated; however, as always for our music operations as a whole here, the real question is what is the "music arrangements outlook verdict" for each one in terms of the "priority status". Only one way to find out, so let's get to it! We first start with:  So here's the thing: the latest installment in the Mario & Luigi RPG series is headed to the Nintendo Switch console under the name of Mario & Luigi: Brothership. Prior to this, the recent games that were made for this series were for the Nintendo 3DS console including remakes of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser Minions) and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr. Journey). The problem is that so far, there haven't been any songs from those two prior games that have caught my attention as of late and as a result, I have respectully passed from seeing about finding any candidates to do Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers for. But in the case of this upcoming Mario & Luigi: Brothership game, the tide might be turning for this one. We shall see if this stays true when the 11/7/2024 release date hits; until then, I still have to give this a "LOW PRIORITY" status for my planbook.  The next game that got featured on the Mario game series side is Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, which as many of you know, is based off the Nintendo 3DS game, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. The situation is that since the musical score for Luigi's Mansion 2 HD is basically the same as what was heard in the Nintendo 3DS counterpart before it, there still hasn't been anything from this musical score overall yet that has gotten my attention to place in my planbook in the coming months. As of the date of this article's posting, this Nintendo Switch version of said game has just been released onto store shelves; however, music arrangement outlook wise, unless a miracle happens, I'm giving this installment the respectful "PASS" just like the Nintendo 3DS game version itself before it.  Finally, I'm already happy to say that the third game that was featured in said presentation has a much better "music arrangements outlook" down the road itself as compared to the other two above announced games. So the latest installment to join the Mario Party family of games in said series is going to be known under the name of Super Mario Party Jamboree (which is the third Mario Party game under the Nintendo Switch category, following Super Mario Party and Mario Party Superstars). While I have yet to find more candidates from those prior two installments for music cover attempts down the road, I have no doubt that what I've heard in this related excerpt for Super Mario Party Jamboree has my attention already. Here's hoping that when the announced 10/17/2024 release date comes around that there will be more song candidates to be found here, for certain. Priority wise on the "outlook", at this time, said upcoming installment here is under the "LOW TO MEDIUM PRIORITY" status. So to quickly review and bring this latest "Music Arrangements Outlook" article to a close, it seems that out of these three featured installments from said presentation, Super Mario Party Jamboree has gotten a slightly higher priority status while one gets a "LOW PRIORITY" and the third gets a respectful "PASS". But as always, things can still change as the months forge ahead, especially in the case of Super Mario Party Jamboree and Mario & Luigi: Brothership as their respective release dates arrive later on this year.
