Extras - Other Stuff - Instrument Set Clarifications ("Disney's Aladdin")

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 - 09:10 PM

NOTE: This specified "instrument set clarification" was originally posted as a blog entry on our previous site layout (from February 27, 2013); we have managed to recover the "source file" of this entry and do the necessary edits/modifications for its relaying to this current "home base website"'s blog entry system.

So this is the thing regarding this "clarification" in question here: a few years back as I was starting to prepare doing Super Nintendo music style arrangements focusing on the score for the Nintendo 3DS game Super Mario 3D Land, I snagged the time to use my "internal sources/applications" to get the instruments that were done to create the songs that were featured in the Super Nintendo version of Disney's Aladdin that was developed and published by Capcom. To refresh our memories, this is what I'm referring to (game packaging wise):

Disney's Aladdin (SNES Version) (Capcom/Disney)

Yes, that game. And from what I've understood, it was considered to be one of the best game adaptions of a Disney animated movie at that time back in the early 1990s, and for good reason. Unfortunately, like what I stated in the case of the two "Disney's Magical Quest" Super Nintendo games (which can be read here), I wasn't able to add this to my game library at my house. However, I was able to get the Game Boy Advance equivalent of the same game, which of course, looks like this (game packaging wise):

Disney's Aladdin (Game Boy Advance Version) (Capcom/Disney)

Okay, to the two points that I want to address: first, just like the "Disney's Magical Quest" Super Nintendo instrument sets that are featured here, the composer priority in terms of acknowledgement is still crediting the ones that created the Super Nintendo instrument set for that game in the first place (along with creating the musical score for that game) because game credits wise, the Game Boy Advance version of "Disney's Aladdin" has different composers listed. Once again, to find who was responsible for creating the "Disney's Aladdin" musical score in the first place for the Super Nintendo version of said game (as well as the instruments created for it), you can head for this page of our site's Acknowledgement List.

Next, in regards to this same "Disney's Aladdin" Super Nintendo music instrument set that's involved and featured in this entry, you all may recall that this was added to the respective "instrument set list" on the Acknowledgements page when I posted my Super Nintendo music style arrangement of the "Desert Theme" from Super Mario 3D Land (if you haven't check it out yet, what are you waiting for? Head for this page and look for the "Desert Theme" file link to listen to the said music arrangement itself). And at the time of this writing, there are still plans to do even more Super Nintendo music style arrangements using the "Disney's Aladdin" SNES music instrument set. The targets in question are still under lock and key, however. But in terms of the Super Nintendo music style arrangements that we have posted here for these operations so far using this Disney's Aladdin set... it hasn't let me down on my end, and I hope it hasn't let you down on your side either!
