Extras - Other Stuff - Music Arrangements Outlook (E3 2018)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, June 16, 2018 - 02:15 PM

All right, everyone; it's been a while since I've done my annual "music arrangements outlook" posting after the annual E3 events that occur during the course of June. Last year was just horrifying because major wrenches were thrown in the works trying to mess up my groove (both for me personally and these music operations that I'm still passionate about). But this year? It's time for this "feature" of mine to make a comeback! And not a moment too soon for this current site layout. But enough about me personally, it's time to see about how my planbook might be shaping up in regards to preparing to do possible Super Nintendo music style arrangements down the road targeting the scores of two upcoming installments featured at this year's E3 (E3 2018, to be exact).

First up is the soon to be released Mario Tennis Aces for the Nintendo Switch console. During the course of the past few days, I've been checking out the videos posted by the Nintendo of America Treehouse team (via their "Treehouse Live" postings; if you haven't checked out said videos from them yet regarding this game, they have them posted here and here). Make no mistake that I am after this game without a doubt when I get my Nintendo Switch console system in due time; however, on the music front, as stated in a previous entry that denoted my stance on preparing to do Super Nintendo music style arrangement stuff here, you can bet this is going to be on my "MEDIUM PRIORITY" list once everything is in place (including getting composer information; however, I still have a feeling I may already have gotten a clue in terms of who it might be because of the composing style). And once again, without giving details away, because of the awesomness of the Mario Tennis Aces musical score itself, this has prompted me to get another Super Nintendo music instrument set together to put "on standby" just for certain songs to arrange from it. What SNES game might it be, you ask? Once again, you'll find out in due time. However, it looks like there are still plans to use the other instruments sets I've used so far (specifically Mega Man Soccer and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) which have been featured in music arrangements that I've done for which focused on Nintendo and Camelot's previous outing, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (which you can check out here).

Next, we have the recently announced Super Mario Party, also for the Nintendo Switch console (slated to be released on October 5, 2018). Once again, I was checking out the videos from the Nintendo of America Treehouse team (via here and here), and it's a given that I'm also after this game as well. But once again, on the music front - I have to say again that in the past few years, my doing Super Nintendo music style arrangements targeting scores done for previous Mario Party installments has been really, really rare (see this page). Granted, I might target some other songs from Mario Party 10 (or maybe Mario Party 9 as well...? God only knows...), but as fas as Super Mario Party goes on the music end, this is going to once again be an interesting ride and it might be rare that I might target some songs from this game as well to do Super Nintendo music style arrangements for. We'll see how things go as the October release week for this upcoming installment draws near; right now, with all due respect, I'm putting the "outlook" for doing Super Nintendo music style arrangements from this game in a "LOW PRIORITY" status (note this does not mean that I'm not looking forward to doing stuff in relation to this game; it's just that chances that I'll do stuff here is once again going to be once again that rare).

And with that, it's time for me to end the outlook here. Long story short, we've got two interesting installments to look forward to not only from the game front itself, but on the music end for yours truly. Here's hoping that both games won't disappoint  on all angles as the weeks forge ahead. Thanks for reading, everyone, and see you on the next "music arrangements outlook posting" after E3 2019! I'm out.
