New "Instrument Set Clarification" Page Added: "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, July 14, 2018 - 01:38 PM

Although I'm currently in "weekend mode" for these music operations, there were some things that I had to get out of the way as we keep progressing on getting back into our original groove (which is coming along nicely, I might add; but that's another entry altogether).

This announcement is targeting one of them: as I promised myself I'd do after implementing our "Instrument Set Clarifications" page section on our site (which can be seen here), a new "instrument set clarification page" has been added as of this afternoon... and the game itself may be a bit familiar to you all who've played this Super Nintendo game back in the early 1990s based on an insanely popular television show which had youngsters at that time as the target audience.

"Go, go, Power Rangers! Mighty Morphin Power Rangers!"

That's right, I'm talking about Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. If you all can recall on the music arrangement process front here, I did a few Super Nintendo music style stuff using this said instrument set from the game targeting songs heard from the Wii U game Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash (which you can check out on this page).

As for the page itself that goes into more details on clarifying my using the instrument set for this said original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers SNES game installment, you'll be able to check it out here.

Special Tribute Page Readded: In Memory & Thanks to the Late Satoru Iwata (1959 - 2015)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 - 08:51 PM

Three years ago today, news from the Nintendo company itself in Japan broke that announced the late Satoru Iwata (the former company president for Nintendo of Japan/Nintendo Co., Ltd. at that time) passed away due to health complications. To this day, he is still remembered in the videogame community at large as well as inside of Nintendo as a whole for being a major contributor on all angles which would shape the roadmap for the successors that would be appointed to lead the Nintendo company itself after his passing.

Thanks to a previous site backup that I have here at my house, I have managed to recover the page content of that "special tribute" that I wrote three years back to give our final respects/shououts to the late Satoru Iwata himself. You can check that said tribute entry itself by going here.

If Iwata was still alive right now, he would have been 57 years old. He will still be missed by many of us, including close colleagues at Nintendo itself.

New Page Implemented: Music Arrangements Progress Page

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 - 08:41 PM

We got this onto the site earlier this morning, but didn't have a chance to make an official announcement about it until now.

"Whoa, what in God's name is this?!" I hear you all ask. Read further, faithful followers and listeners; the said explanation below will make more sense regarding what we are sharing with you tonight.

That's right, friends - for those of you who are definitely dedicated Super Nintendo music style arrangement fanatics who really love what I've been doing for these operations so far and are curious about how things are coming along in terms of my doing new music targets from modern Super Mario (and branched) videogame installments, then boy, do I have a page for you all: the "Music Arrangements Progress Page"!

The above image simply demonstrates what's in store for you when you check out the page (which is located here). But rest assured that as the weeks and months forge ahead, more Super Mario (and branched) game installments may get added to the list as I work on new Super Nintendo music style arrangements from those games themselves. And of course, those numbers themselves on each row will change from time to time as progress gets made and each "arrangement file" in the works inches closer to getting finalized and posted for these operations for you all to check out.

Once again, for more details on how this page in question will operate, you all are able to access it here.

New "Social Media Portal" Incoming/Site Host Move Planned In The Coming Days

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, July 9, 2018 - 08:18 PM

Hi there, everyone; two things to report about tonight:

First, over the course of the previous weekend, I have been hard at work getting a new "social media portal" prepared for you faithful followers/listeners of these music operations hosted by yours truly. Details on what that "social media portal" could be are still under lock and key, but I will say that it looks like it's going to be a critical essential on the "interactivity" angle between myself and you all out there. Estimated time of arrival of this to get in full action will be during the course of this week itself, so keep your eyes open here on this front page and on our IRC channel and Twitter to get the heads-up on when this new "portal" goes live.

Second, it looks like we may have to make preparations to move to another more reliable website hosting candidate yet again. As I wrote in the previous entry before this one, we were approached by this one candidate via Twitter just one to two weeks ago. And tonight, the final decision has been made to prepare for the move. But this won't happen until after I have dealt with getting the upcoming "social media portal" implemented for these operations within the coming days; plus, I'm trying to also get another thing implemented on our site itself before we actually proceed with the site host move. But rest assured, we're obviously getting stuff done this month; I seriously want to get back into the "music arrangement groove" for real... as I write this, there are now a bunch of song targets from Super Mario game installments (main, spinoff, and branched) that have clogged up my planbook's backlog that it really isn't funny. I am ready to tackle it all head on, that's for sure.

Once again, keep it locked on out front page, our Twitter page, and our IRC channel for any new developments that may come up regards the matters stated here on this entry. I'm out for now; take care, everyone.
