Still Alive On The Backend/Server Host "Activity"

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, May 18, 2018 - 05:20 PM

Okay, so at last check, the "activity" on the frontend feels like it's been a bit "dormant" since the previous music file additions that I have added since more than one month ago. But that doesn't mean that I'm still giving up on this thing. The case is this: at the time of this writing, I'm still dealing with so many "real life situations" outside of this place which include having to recently file two job applications the other day in hopes to land work during the course of the coming summer months (June/July/August) - hopefully, this will extend to way beyond that when said "summer months period" ends to personally rebuild my finances to where I want them to be for the upcoming second half of this year. My only hope is that this also won't interfere with my checking out Nintendo's upcoming E3 2018 coverage itself when it gets into action during the course of next month. But more on that at another time.

Second, to give an update on the "server host activity" on the backend - at last check, it seems that the hosting server operation itself has finally resolved a problem that has been concerning me as of late, and that is the "IP recording". Regardless, this still doesn't satisfy me because I am seriously considering after I deal with other important matters outside of here moving to a different hosting provider (especially for the fact that some "social media platforms" are not liking our current email and marking it as "span"/"questionable"/"untrusted link(s)". But I can assure you that there is NO spam, NO "untrusted links", or nothing that's suspicious of any kind because this is intended to be a "family friendly" site, no questions asked.

That's all for now regarding this entry; as always, if you have any further questions regarding what's been posted here, please do not hesitate to contact me via email about it or interacting with me on the forums if you have an account with us there. Thanks in advance, everyone.

Site Backup Procedures Done/"Site Host" Matters

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, May 4, 2018 - 08:04 PM

Okay, everyone, two things that I need to quickly address for tonight before getting ready for "weekend mode" procedures.

First of all, I have managed to see about getting the backup procedures for our site and forums done during the course of yesterday, so we're in good shape there. I still have the backup that I managed to do during the course of March 2017 because there are still some things which I'm trying to snag the chance to "restore" onto this main website blogging system, but personal "real life situations" have still been getting in the way as of late, even though I've been trying to get back into the music arrangement groove in general. But at least we're set for the upcoming summer months that are about to happen in a few weeks time this month.

Second, as I breifly mentioned on the formal "monthly greetings entry" for this current month of May, I am now starting to question the "integrity" of the site hosts that we are on now, especially on the backend. It's even got to a point now that when we try to even post legitimate links referring to certain areas of our site, some social media outlets have been flagging URLs that we post as being "questionable/unsafe links". This concerns me greatly and I'm trying my best to see if there are any solutions I can check into that will address this matter in a timely fashion; once again, I also want to see about getting this done before the months of June arrives. As always, I will keep you posted on how things develop.

May 2018 Greetings/Backups In Progress

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - 04:42 PM

Hi there, everyone; we have just arrived into the next to final month of the first half of 2018. The previous month that's now in the history books have been great for us thanks to the three new Super Nintendo music style arrangements that have been posted spanning two games (Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart Arcade GP DX), and make no mistake that yours truly is just getting started.

However, at this time, and as you all are already aware, our "home base website" here went through a bit of some "downtime" from the server end since a few days ago. Thankfully, our related account itself on the backend was still intact along with the files for the site (excluding our music arrangement files themselves; those are held on our external file host for this site).

Therefore, to ensure our own security, I am currently dealing with getting a backup done of this website along with the database for the forums. This is a necessary step that needs to be taken to ensure that we are all set to go for the upcoming summer months which will occur in a matter of three to four weeks from now. The process itself should take between one to two days before I can get back into my music arrangement groove here.

As always, you're still able to see about sending me an email or leaving me a message on the forums if you still have any questions/other operations related inquiries that I need to look into as well. Once again, I really do appreciate your patience in advance and many apologies for the inconveniences that were caused during the course of the past few days. Take care for now, everyone.

"Super Mario Odyssey" - New Arrangement Posted

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 - 03:29 PM

Now we're starting to slowly making progress on this backlog, friends, especially in regards to my planned Super Nintendo music style arrangement targets focused on the beyond epic score of Super Mario Odyssey!

This time around, just fifteen days after we've started our related game page to house the Super Nintendo music style arrangement stuff related to this installment (which you're able to read the news about here, along with the link to the said page itself), I snagged the time to see about targeting another insanely epic song which we can all agree that during a certain point of the game, we were all like "oh my gosh, we did NOT see this coming!"

That's right, I'm referring to the boss fight encounter when Mario and Cappy crash landed onto the Ruined Kingdom - Crumbleden locale and are forced to battle the Ruined Dragon in order to continue their chase to stop Bowser from marrying Princess Peach (along with repairing their damaged Odyssey ship in the process, no thanks to Bowser himself that controlled the same Ruined Dragon which destroyed it). I'll spare the rest of the details for those who haven't played the entire game itself yet and reached that point.

As for my SNES music style arrangement of this tune itself, although it still pales in comparison to the original, this just had to be done in the instrument styling heard in Konami's Batman Returns SNES game. Once you check the said file out (which would be here), you'll know the reasons why in order to match how epic the tune itself was for that part of the Super Mario Odyssey game.

That's all for now, everyone; more Super Mario Odyssey music arrangement stuff to come from yours truly as the months forge ahead! (Heck, even as I write this, I'm already thinking of two more targets right now! I'm not kidding.) See you all later.
