Rules Pages Return for Our IRC and Twitter Portals

Posted by Merit Celaire on Thursday, January 18, 2018 - 11:20 AM

This morning, everyone, I have managed to see about getting the respective "rules pages" back on the site targeting our two "external interactivity portals" (which are our IRC channel and our Twitter Portal).

You can find those respective pages again at the following links:

Rules for Our IRC Channel
Rules for Our "Twitter Portal"

As always, your use of these two interactive angles with us denotes your agreement with us to adhere to the standards stated in the related documents linked; if you haven't had a chance to read said rules governing these places, it would be a good idea to do so now.

On a side note, progress on getting our main angle of interactivity, the Forum Portal is coming along nicely. I'm hoping to see about working on the setup process some more during the course of later today or tomorrow which includes getting the Rules page for it on the site as well. More details on that soon. Until then, I'm gone for now.

"Music File Statistics" Document Returns

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 - 06:17 PM

Along with the previous news that I posted just a short while ago, I'm also please to announce that during the "restoration efforts" of these operations from other angles, our "music file statistics" document has now made a return to this server as well. And good news on that angle: the document is still up to date from the last update I made way back in mid-June after I posted those Super Nintendo music style arrangements targeting the staff credits songs for Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8!

To see that document in question again, make sure to go to this page (under the "Extras" tab), then click on the "Music File Statistics" link. It'll take you to that area's sub-category where the document can be accessed.

Repeating what was said on the page: as the months forge ahead when I do new Super Nintendo music style arrangements in the coming months, there may be times when I may do extra articles for it to do noteworthy comparisons on how certain featured Super Mario (and branched) installments are holding up; the same goes for the featured Super Nintendo music instrument sets that I have used thus far to do the arrangements themselves.

On a side note, it's still worth noting that at this time, the top featured Super Mario (and branched) installments related to our operations here is Super Paper Mario (with Game & Wario and Super Mario 3D World fighting neck and neck for #2, followed by Super Mario Galaxy in 3rd place). Super Nintendo music instrument set wise in the ranking, even I am amazed by this - the #1 spot is being held by the instrument set done by Geoff and Tim Follin originally used to create the musical score for Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge. But as we know, things can change as the months forge ahead, so you all know what to do... keep it locked here for any new happenings as they come; until then, I'll see you folks later. I'm out.

"Other Stuff" Area Back in "Extras" Section

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 - 05:58 PM

All right, friends - good news to report regarding our music operation's "restoration efforts" from other angles: remember the "Other Stuff" area from the previous site before we were force to find a new server home? If you do, then good for you.

But even if you don't, that's okay; with that said, this was still on my "to do list" regarding the restoration efforts. And I'm happy to announce that the said section of our "home base website"... is back as of tonight! Only that this time around, it's going to be housed under the "Extras" tab of this site's layout.

You can find the "Other Stuff" section itself by clicking on the "Extras" tab in the top menu, then scroll down until you find the "Other Stuff" link. You can also get to said respective pages using the links in this entry.

EDIT (1/17/'18 - 6:24 P.M.; C.S.T.) - I almost forgot to mention that as you may have already noticed, only one "section" is active under the "Other Stuff" area in "Extras". As the months forge ahead in our music operations site's restoration efforts, more pages for it will open up in due time. As always, I will keep you posted when said pages in question go live right here; keep your eyes open for when they do! Thanks in advance for your patience, friends.

Site Materials Restoration Progress (1/13/'18)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Saturday, January 13, 2018 - 06:34 PM

Hey there, friends; just wanted to give you all a quick update on a few things in our "home base website" restoration efforts (which also includes some "music operations" stuff in general).

(1) Forum Portal Restoration Progress
Two cases: first, the past few weeks have had me go through Hades trying to see if I was able to find another more reliable forum software candidate. After a lot of trial and error, it seems that I had to make the final decision to stick with the Phorum forum software (that was the recent software that was used on our previous host before the "events" that occured during the middle of last year). The good news is that the previous site backup that I had contains the "materials" that I need to reinstall the customizations for it. However, I still need to use them as a "guide" to make adjustments to make a new default skin that matches the main website here (including the top links, banner, and background/color schemes for consistency). But we're getting there on that front slowly; I'll keep you all posted on how this is coming along and when this part of the site will be open again for all of us. Stay tuned!

(2) Other Materials ("Behind the Process", Music File Statistics Document, etc.)
The other part is dealing with getting other aspects of our "home base" website back over here again, which includes the "Behind the Process" area and a document that housed statistics on the Super Nintendo music style arrangement files that we have available for these operations so far (and thank heavens it was updated after I posted the Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8 stuff before the E3 2017 happenings!). There are other things that I want to try and bring back as well after I sort through the backup files that I do have, but that is a low priority at this time; I want to deal with getting the above mentioned stuff in this category accounted for first.

On a side note, it looks like if all goes well and the above factors get dealt with in a timely manner (although I still can't guarantee this), it looks like I might get back into my Super Nintendo music style arrangement groove itself prior to our starting our eighth anniversary for these operations overall next month! And not a moment too soon; one of my "sources" have pointed me to a certain Mario installment in which two songs have caught my attention big time; those two targets hit my "arrangement target planbook" the other day and I am already making preparations to begin the process. I know you are all asking the question: "What songs are they?" Right now, it's a secret; but I do hope that I can see about sharing said stuff with you come next month as we begin our eighth anniversary. Can't wait.

That's it for now, friends; see you all later until next entry, and stay warm out there! I'm out.
