Extras - Other Stuff - Music Arrangements Outlook (Nintendo Direct: 9/4/'19): "Luigi's Mansion 3" / "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020"
Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, September 9, 2019 - 02:45 PM
Okay, everyone; it's been almost one week after the recent Nintendo Direct presentation got posted on the Internet (in case you haven't seen it yet, you're able to do so here). But here's the thing: the featured Mario (and branched) videogame installments were the same ones as the previous major Nintendo Direct presentation that was posted back during the E3 2019 happenings - Luigi's Mansion 3 and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020. The only question for our music operations here is this: will the statuses that I posted from our previous article be the same, or are up for an update? Read on to find out that answer.
First up, just like the last presentation (and our related article), the upcoming Luigi's Mansion 3 installment was the first up to be shown (which you can see here). More information was shared regarding this game itself, and I was listening very carefully to the musical score itself that was played in the background. Here's the case, though: as you faithful listeners/followers already know, I've done a few Super Nintendo music style arrangements targeting the Nintendo 3DS version based on the Gamecube installment of Luigi's Mansion (yes, that original installment which was also the "launch title" for the said system); if you haven't heard the stuff that I've covered so far in regards to that game, check them out at this page. The only difference between that game and the upcoming one for the Nintendo Switch console? The musical score for Luigi's Mansion 3 is a little more interesting that as compared to the musical score for the original installment (not that the original was bad by any means). But at this time, because of the backlog that I have at this time which I'm really hoping to get back in action on starting this month, although I have no doubt that there are possible candidates to be found involving Luigi's Mansion 3, I have this put this game in the "LOW PRIORITY" status at this time.
Next up, we've got Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020 (slated for release on the Nintendo Switch console November 5, 2019; featured in this portion of the presentation). Music operations wise here, I'm in the same situation like the Luigi's Mansion 3 installment shared above in this article - only that I've covered just one installment under the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series itself, and that was Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games (Vancouver 2010), as you're able to see on this page. The only problem is that I haven't done many Super Nintendo music style covers from this aforementioned installment (as well as all other Mario & Sonic olympics videogame installments that have been done so far targeting the Wii, WiiU, and Nintendo 3DS consoles). It's not that I'm saying that the music score isn't that interesting (because it always has been great for every Mario & Sonic olympics installment ever done). But the "priority status" that I have for the upcoming Nintendo Switch installment here is sadly in the "LOW PRIORITY" status as well.
So to review: both the upcoming Luigi's Mansion 3 and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games: Tokyo 2020 installments have now gotten a "LOW PRIORITY" status as of the date and time of this posting. But let me clear on this one thing: this does not mean that I'm ignoring these two games in question on the music end, not by a long shot! Who knows, as the months forge ahead, you might see new game pages targeting these two installments under our "Gallery List" section; God only knows for sure when it will happen.
Until then, I have to end our latest "Music Arrangement Outlook" article here. See you all next time when the next major "Nintendo Direct" gets announced and posted (if there are any featured Mario installments involved (main and branched), of course!). I'm out for now.
