Extras - Other Stuff - Music File Statistics Update (5/31/'24): "Princess Peach: Showtime!" Makes Its Debut On This Document!

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, May 31, 2024 - 03:11 PM

Oh dang, friends; it's been a little over one year since I've written a dedicated article to let you all know about the latest happenings regarding our respective "Music File Statistics" document for these operations? Well, thankfully, I've found an opportunity during the course of this afternoon to get our newest one written up and for good reason.

So, as you faithful friends/followers of these music operations as a whole are already aware, during the course of earlier this month, our latest game page for this site got implemented that will house the Super Nintendo music styled arrangements done which focus on the very unique and addictive score of Princess Peach: Showtime! (If you haven't checked the said game page out yet, you're able to do so by going here.) Ever since this latest game for the Nintendo Switch console got release in late March which has our Mario series' "lead female" Princess Peach in lead role territory after nearly two decades (following Super Princess Peach, the installment in question which had our Princess Peach in lead role territory there for the Nintendo DS console), the musical score itself for Princess Peach: Showtime! has literally been on my planbook's radar for God knows how long. And although I doubt we're through with finding new candidates from Princess Peach: Showtime! to do Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers for down the road in the coming months, there is no doubt that this unique installment bearing the "Princess Peach" name is making its presence know on the rankings document itself after the latest update to it (which, of course, is 5/31/2024). Let's explain in further detail:

First, the below image shows what were the standards of the "Featured Mario Game Series Installments" of these music operations as a whole before the update was implemented (which was back in 3/18/24):

As you can see, in the above image, the top five installments during that time involve the following (in regards to how many Super Nintendo music styled arrangement covers have been done involving songs from them): Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Super Paper Mario, Game & Wario, Super Mario Galaxy, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. For God knows how long in the history of these music operations as a whole, the aforementioned installments were holding on to these spots neck and neck (of course, trying to get to that number one spot which is currently held by SM3DW / SM3DW + BF). But here's the thing, those five were not ready for the "upset" that was to come today. Because take a look at this:

Nope, you're not seeing that above second image wrong, people. Upon the implementation of our Princess Peach: Showtime! game page (along with the 26 new Super Nintendo music styled arrangement files in tow), it usurped Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker from it's #5 spot and has made it's debut in the position that was originally held by the former game. The only question that we've got is as the months forge on for the remainder of this year, will the featured Princess Peach: Showtime! installment make any more upsets and climb up further up this part of the rankings lists in said document? It's too early to give answers regarding the matter, but rest assured, we'll be keeping close watch on future music arrangement stuff involving stuff from Princess Princess: Showtime!, so stay tuned.

Second, let's not forget the "Featured Super Nintendo Music Instrument Sets" part of this same document itself. Although there were really no noteworthy things to add for our rankings changelog page at this time, it still shouldn't go without saying that thanks to all those new files that we posted involving Super Nintendo music styled covers featuring songs from Princess Peach: Showtime!, the presence of said game installment was made known here as well.

Once again, the above image for the "Featured Super Nintendo Music Instrument Sets" shows what said rankings for the featured SNES games (instrument set wise) were back in 3/18/2024. Here's the thing from this angle of what I'm trying to get at: as you can also see from this announcement made when the first batch of music arrangement files targeting stuff from Princess Peach: Showtime! were added, the involved instrument sets that I called on so far to do the process back then included The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse (Capcom), Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose! (Konami), Disney's Aladdin (Capcom), and Animaniacs (Konami). Now, although this part of the document didn't cause any major "shifts" as a result of said update, it did however result in these current standings after this 5/31/2024 update:

While it might be a very long while until we find out when the SNES music instrument set for Spider-Man and the X-Men: Arcade's Revenge will ever get usurped, we definitely have a definite "ranking order" for at least three SNES instrument sets respectively after their involvement in latest covers of songs from Princess Peach: Showtime! The second position still has The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse (Capcom) holding on to its rank there, followed by Disney's Aladdin (Capcom) at number three and Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose! (Konami) at number four. The featured SNES music instrument set for Animaniacs (Konami) is currently in the number 15 position at this time.

And with that, the only other question that remains is if what was shared above in both categories of this document continue to disrupt the overall rankings even further as more songs from Princess Peach: Showtime! get found to do Super Nintendo music styled covers in the months to come? Once again, only God knows and time will tell as the months forge ahead. In the meantime, don't forget that you can still let me know via the "Song Candidate Suggestions" form what songs from said game installment in question you hope will hit my planbook for consideration to do later on down the road. And as always, if you have any further questions after reading all what was shared on this article itself, please don't hesitate to let me know by going to this main contact form itself with what you want elaborated further. See you all later.
