"Year in Review" - 2023Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 - 01:32 PM Despite the major turbulent issues that have been trying to slow down yours truly (including but not limited to resituating myself on the backend after having to upgrade our site hosting account to a "paying client" status, as well as my account access issues with Discord), the show must go on. More specficially, I still promised myself I'd at least take care of wriring this latest "Year in Review" article looking back at the music operation's activity from the previous 2023 year. As always, we've got two categories to share including what featured Super Mario (main, spinoff, and branched) installments have been involved, as well as the featured Super Nintendo music instrument set involvement. So ready or not, here we go; let's get down to it. As for the featured Super Nintendo music instrument sets involved for the previous year, that recent Super Mario Bros. Wonder installment had something to do with it song covers wise - because the stuff that yours truly did so far doing arrangements of songs from Super Mario Bros. Wonder has placed the instrument set of SmartBall (Sony Imagesoft/System Sacom/Game Freak) in the winner's circle territory here! The rest of the involved SNES music instrument sets couldn't even come close to this as well; either in ties and/or even being used only once (even though the instruments set for RoboCop 3 (Ocean) and Space Ace (Absolute Entertainment/Empire Software/O.D.E.) were the latest additions in my trying to cover certain songs from Mario Tennis Aces and Mario Tennis Open). Here's the chart in question for all of the Super Nintendo music instrument sets that were involved in the previous 2023 year: And that's all that yours truly has to share to finally conclude the 2023 year itself after a lot of turbulent matters that I'm still trying to sort out at this time. I'm just hoping I can get them all resolved very soon because as of the date and time of this posting, we're getting close to placing this month of January in the history books and our "anniversary month" is incoming after that. And yes, I've been slowly working on our first batch of new Super Nintendo music styled covers to start off 2024 (which you're able to check the statuses of here; apparently, another batch of songs from WarioWare: Smooth Moves has gotten my attention as of late, along with a "main theme" song. But will it be enough to claim the top spot in next year's "Year in Review"? God only knows.). I'm just hoping that I can still find the strength and motivation to get most of the backlog cleared, if not all... because apparently, there's a certain upcoming Mario series installment that definitely has my attention big time... and here's a hint: that same game in question has a late March 2024 release date attached to it. So let's hope for the best for the rest of this year itself, and I'll see you awesome people again soon. Take care for now. Return to Main Page |
