Music Arrangements Outook - Nintendo Direct (9/13/'22): "Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope" / "Mario Strikers: Battle League" / "MK8D - Booster C.P."

Posted by Merit Celaire on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 - 05:28 PM

All right, everyone; so before I get started on this latest "Music Arrangements Outlook" article which focuses on this recent Nintendo Direct presentation that was posted back on 9/13/2022, I would like to let everyone know that currently, my priority during these remaining months in the final quarter of the 2022 is to slowly but surely get most of this backlog down to almost zero. Real life situations outside of here have literally been getting in my way all over the place the past few weeks, but I'm still determined to make it through and overcome every "challenge" that has been thrown at me to this day, so help me God. That said, I've finally snagged the chance this Wednesday afternoon to give my latest "outlook verdicts" on the featured Mario related game installments shown in the recent video posting from Nintendo. Have there been any possible changes from past "Music Arrangement Outlook" articles that I've shared with you all here on this site? Let's find out, starting now.

The first game that was featured involving the Mario cast is the Ubisoft developed game Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope (in which Ubisoft is also the publisher as well). The last time I talked about possible music arrangement plans regarding this upcoming installment was way back during when it was first announced during the E3 2021 happenings (as can be seen via this previous article); the thing is, from what I've heard music wise back then, I gave this installment a respectful "PASS" because of how challenging the musical score for this game would be for me to do Super Nintendo music style covers for (one reason is the very unique composing style of Grant Kirkhope, who is one of the composers of this game). I'm not saying that the musical score itself should be ignored regarding this game at any point because I'm very sure it's going to be a big hit for those who are huge fans of the composing works of Grant Kirkhope and his team (just like with their previous installment, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle). But with all that said, my verdict on music arrangement plans to cover stuff from this upcoming game still stands; once again, I'm giving this the respectful "PASS".

So later on down the lineup, Mario Strikers: Battle League got featured with the announcement that an update was going to be applied to the game prior to month's end. And as you all are aware, nearly one to two months ago, this page was implemented to house Super Nintendo music styled covers that may be done targeting songs from this aformentioned game itself. So far, one song has been covered... but more could be coming down the road in the months to come! That said, because of other situations and my trying to take care of my planbook's backlog involving other songs I'm trying to target from other Mario game installments, I have to put this installment under a "LOW PRIORITY" status.

And finally, the "Booster Course Pass" DLC campaign for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was featured again announcing that the third wave is planned to be in action during the holiday season this year. I elaborated on trying to make plans on how I'm going to apporach possible candidates down the road via this previous outlook posting; nothing has been finalized yet planbook wise since I'm still trying to slowly catch up on other music song cover plans in my backlog. However, I do have a priority status change from the last post and because of my trying to see about taking care of other song covers that are still on the backburner which target stuff from both Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the "Booster Course Pass" stuff is also going to be placed under the "LOW PRIORITY" status.

So to review and make this long story short: we have one upcoming installment that still has a respectful "PASS" verdict on music arrangement cover plans involving that game, and two other featured games  from that Nintendo Direct presentation which now have the "LOW PRIORITY" status. However, as I stated, especially in regards to the case of Mario Strikers: Battle League, please don't hesitate to let me know via this online "Song Candidates Suggestions" form which musical scores you hope that I'll consider doing in the Super Nintendo music arrangement style as the months forge ahead (and after I have made substantial progress on clearing out most of this backlog here).

Along with this, if you have any further questions in general after reading this outlook article itself, please don't hesitate to let me know via this main email contact form so I can get back with you at my earliest opportunity (within the Monday - Friday timeframe, of course). Thanks again for your time on reading this, and I'll see you awesome people later. I'm out.
