Recovering from Hurricane Sally; Where Things Go From Here (For The Rest Of This Month)

Posted by Merit Celaire on Monday, September 21, 2020 - 08:19 PM

All right, friends; yours truly is just giving you this quick follow-up posting to know that I made it through the "Hurricane Sally" ordeal that my area had to endure for the majority of last week (thank heavens). At this time for these music operations, I'm currently getting resituated; the following is what I'm trying to see about getting accounted for before September is in the history books come a little over one week from now:

(1) Music Arrangements Outlook Article - "Super Mario 35th Anniversary" Direct Presentation
As I have previously shared briefly in past entries before this one, I have along with all of you checked out this special Nintendo Direct presentation which focused on what's being planned to mark the Super Mario video game series' 35th anniversary. It's still in the plans for me to get an upcoming "Music Arrangements Outlook Article" posted regarding about what's being targeted for possible upcoming Super Nintendo music style arrangement candidates in the future (although nothing hasn't really been "finalized" yet on that angle). I'm just dealing with some other real life situations at this time; hopefully, I can get them sorted out so I can at least work on the article during the middle of this week. Stay tuned for any new developments that may arise here.

(2) Upcoming Polls for the "Twitter Portal"
If you haven't been following us on our Twitter, then you're definitely missing on a lot of stuff that gets shown in the timeline on your end! Recently, I've been posting certain poll stuff regarding these music operations over there (including, but not limited to asking about certain songs that I've done Super Nintendo music style arrangements for). But the next few days will be very crucial as I'm going to possibly be asking about the featured Super Nintendo music instruments sets that have been featured/used in the music covers that I've done for these music operations as a whole. So, once again, if you haven't done so already, please head for this page and submit your follower request so I can see about getting you approved from my end and allow you to see the latest Twitter postings from yours truly (of course, provided that you undoubtedly meet this criteria and are NOT just a "lurker" over there). Be on the lookout for those said polls via Twitter very soon!

Thanks once again for your patience as I still fight to get back in the groove especially after Hurricane Sally hit my area leaving destruction in its wake. To those who are viewing this who were also in the "strike zone" when Hurricane Sally hit last week, my prayers are with you as well as we all recover together. Let's stay strong; we'll obviously get through this together. I'm gone for now.

Notice of Backend Activity Delays Due To Hurricane Sally

Posted by Merit Celaire on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 - 06:56 PM

This post is primarily towards our viewers/followers of these beloved music operations in the United States, but still to give everyone as a whole advance notice: as you all are already aware, there is currently a weather threat that we've been keeping a close eye on, and it is under the name of Hurricane Sally. The reason why I am also posting this tonight is because the area where I'm writing this from is now under a Hurricane Warning and the storm itself has been slowly closing in on the area where I reside.

Therefore, on the music operations end of things here: activity on the backend (including checking on email correspondence, verifying new Twitter follower requests, approving/denying new Discord server invite link requests, etc.) has been currently suspended at this time until the storm itself has passed. Current weather reports say that the storm itself should be gone from my targeted area by either Thursday or Friday.

I'll still keep in touch with you all via other active related community portal means for these operations; just be aware that my connection might be limited should power to my house be knocked out (heaven forbid). That said, if any of you are also in the path of this said storm in question, please be safe. Take care until then.

35th Anniversary of the "Super Mario" Series Now Underway / Related "Direct" Article Still Being Worked On

Posted by Merit Celaire on Sunday, September 13, 2020 - 07:45 PM

And so it begins, awesome people: this weekend officially starts the 35th anniversary of a beloved videogame series that would create an enormous following in Japan and around the world: Super Mario Bros. Who ever would have thought that we'd see the day that all of us in the videogame hobbyist community as a whole (along with the Nintendo company itself) would mark this major milestone 35 years later?

Once again, I consider it to be a huge honor that I am part of the folks celebrating this milestone in question; I still love this Mario videogame series as a whole to this day, and here's looking forward to more major milestones being reached after this point.

That said, I'm still trying to find time to work on an upcoming music operations related article addressing certain things that were shared in the recent "Nintendo Direct" presentation which focused on upcoming happenings commemorating the Mario series' 35th anniversary milestone. It's just that once again, real life matters just had to get in the way again and I have to get those sorted out first before I can see about getting the article written up. Of course, I'll keep you all posted on when the article itself does go live because from what I've seen from the video so far, there are some certain things that need to be addressed that might shake up my music arrangement target planbook a bit. But one thing is clear: there are some "angles" regarding this "35th anniversary happening" that need to be considered, and I hope to get them dealt with when it's time to draft said article.

Until then, I still appreciate everyone's patience and understanding at this time; as always, please don't forget to submit a follower request on our music operation's Twitter accountsubmit an invite link request for our related Discord server, or even join our IRC channel on EsperNet. You all won't want to miss out on when I do get said upcoming music operations related article up on the site discussing what our plans are for honoring the Mario series' 35th anniversary milestone. I'm gone for now.

Preparing for the Super Mario Series' 35th Anniversary

Posted by Merit Celaire on Friday, September 4, 2020 - 07:07 PM

Just snagged the time to make the post about this "breaking news"; as all of you should have already been aware by now, in just a few weeks, the Nintendo company as a whole is preparing to mark the Super Mario game series' 35th anniversary. They have posted a special Nintendo Direct presentation announcing their plans to commemorate this milestone (which goes all the way up to the Spring 2021 season); in case you haven't checked it out yet, you are able to do so here.

I'll be rechecking through said video during the course of next week to focus on certain installments that were featured in the presentation because I have no doubt it's going to shake up my music operation's arrangement target planbook on the backend. Details undisclosed for now, but I can say that not everything featured in the video is on my radar in the months ahead, musically speaking. A dedicated article elaborating on this will be coming soon during the course of this month, so keep your eyes open for that.

Until then, let me just say as a side note that it is a very huge honor to witness the Super Mario game series as a whole reach another huge milestone. I'm just hoping that what I'm planning related to this 35th anniversary milestone will do it justice in the months to come. Later, awesome people!
